Captain's Cottage was built along with rest of the neighborhood in the 1890's by the Crescent Beach Land Company as a summer get away. Since then the cottage has been extensively remodeled and winterized as a year round residence. It now features a large, eat-in gourmet kitchen, a Bose home theater, a dining/gaming room, and a computer area. A major remodel completed in 2007 added an oversized two car garage, a master suite with jetted shower, an upper deck with discrete sunning area and hot tub, a pool/trophy room with an eight foot Connelly table, and a basement with home gym, including a universal machine, a treadmill, and free weights. It also has a 32' LCD TV/DVD with P90X.
Captain's Cottage is ideally located just 66 steps--I counted'em--away from the finest beach for miles around. Crescent Beach is meticulously manicured every morning at the crack of dawn. It has a raft, a lifeguard, and 'The Stand', serving breakfast and lunch daily. There's a place to launch small boats. And it's all an easy walk into town having all the ammenities of a classic New England beach town: clam shacks, ice cream and coffee shops, antiques, gift shops, movie theater, pizza parlors and watering holes.
Captain's Cottage is uniquely suited for entertaining. There is a gas grill on the tropical themed front porch that Jimmy Buffet would be proud of, and the dining room opens to the front porch thru an opening in the wet bar for al fresco dining. There is service for parties of up to twenty.
Captain's Cottage comes fully equipped with boats, bicycles, and all the gear your family will need to get the most from your stay at the beach!
'Captain' is a well earned moniker for Capt Rick, as he's known by his friends. A native of Crescent Beach, he is a veteran Air Force captain, a fighter pilot having flown the F-4 Phantom and the A-10 Thunderbolt.
As sea captain, he has earned a Coast Guard 100 ton off-shore Masters license, having plied waters from New England to Bermuda, Bahamas and the Caribbean, momentos of which can be seen throughout Captain's Cottage.
As captain of the skyways, he is also an international airline captain flying B-767 for American Airlines to Europe, Caribben, and South America.
So, a captain threefold, the name is hard to escape! You're invited to share the captain's east coast home, as he nows hails from Las Vegas, Nevada.
I bought the cottage 1996 as a personal residence to raise my family. It has been fantastic! Now that family is grown and gone, I'm happy to extend that experience to others.
