Your place was absolutely perfect. The girls absolutely loved it. Our usual routine is to go out for dinner on Saturday night after a day of shopping. Not this year. We just stayed put and enjoyed your place.
We would like to reserve it again for next year.
Also, I would like to see if you will allow me to reserve next Thanksgiving. I would love to bring my children and grandchildren to your beautiful place.
We were lucky and were able to stay in this beautiful home last minute over the Valentines/Presidents day weekend. The house is well cared for, clean and inviting. The views of the mountains from anywhere in this house are incredible. It easily fit our large family. To our surprise there is a whole other level below the main living that could have easily and with extra room accommodated another family. I like that the bathroom on the main floor is handicap accessible.
Our kids loved this house and didn't want to leave. It was perfect and the owner is great. Rob was so helpful in recommending restaurants and shops. He let us use their sleds and our kids just couldn't get enough playing in the snow there. He made sure the house light was on and a fire was going when we arrived! It really is a well laid out home. We made great family memories here and we look forward to coming back, you won't be disappointed. Everything the other reviewers said I agree with wholeheartedly!
My husband and a group of friend had the pleasure of renting this home for a second time this year. We have been coming to Vermont as group for the last 8 years and this house has been a perfect fit for our group. There is plenty of space for everyone yet the home still feels cozy and comfortable. The fireplace is such a nice amenity, especially with the snow and very cold temperatures we experienced while there. Our entire group had a chance to enjoy the hiking trails that you can access right from the back yard. The location is ideal. Half our group skied/snowboarded at Stratton one day (half hour away) and we enjoyed a great dinner at Mulligan's in Manchester Center (10 minutes away). We didn't do any shopping this year but the shops in Mancheser are very accessible. The owner is very resposive and always got right back to me to answer questions which made planning the trip that much easier. We had another great year in Vermont and look forward to coming back.
We rented this home over the break over the holiday week leading up to New Year's Day and had a fantastic time. The house is very comfortable and accommodated our large family with four children. There was plenty of space for everyone and the home was very warm with a wood-burning stove and traditional heat throughout. The kitchen and living area on the first floor was very nicely laid-out for our family to relax after a day of skiing at the nearby mountains. The bathrooms were immaculate and the laundry room was super useful for our family. The house is situated on a beautiful piece of property and we even went hiking through the woods surrounding the home. We absolutely loved all the decorations on the walls and around the home. The location is also convenient to the nearby ski resorts of Stratton and Bromley, as well as to Manchester. A must-rent home!! We would absolutely return.
We rented this house over the long Columbus Day weekend and could not have been happier. It was everything that we were looking for. Easy access to Manchester, beautiful foliage everywhere (right off the deck), easy access to trail heads for hiking (right in the back yard), fully functional kitchen and grill so we could make great meals at the end of a long day. The house is SO perfectly VT with it's great moose and bears on the walls, and beautiful wood stove that heated up the house so nicely, and provided a romantic setting to just relax at night with some movies and wine. The electronics (TV, sound, music) were all so easy to use with the instructions provided. It is SO quiet and peaceful here, we can't wait to go back. I have to also comment on the owners, who were so very helpful with suggestions for hikes, dinners, back road drives and local attractions. The house was warm when we arrived late at night which was great. I left a shoe at the house and they were kind enough to return it to me on their next visit up there, which was much appreciated. They were a pleasure to deal with. Like I said- we can't wait to go back and are trying to find some time on the calendar to head back when there's some snow on the ground.
We were in Vermont for one of our son's wedding and we found the perfect place for the 10 of us to stay! This cabin was so amazing! It was even more wonderful than the pictures showed. The property was very clean and there was plenty of information for us upon our arrival. We could not have asked for a better set up. One really important thing about this property is that it is handicap accessible. One of my sisters ended up having to use a wheelchair and the ramp in the garage made it so she could still come and stay with us. We could not believe how much space we had. The basement was very surprising to us! There was just so much room. I could imagine that there could be times that the second kitchen in the basement would be very handy for the right situation. There were plenty of linens and towels in the well stocked linen closets. The kitchen was also well stocked. I was very impressed with the open communication with Rob, the owner, as well. I spoke with him on the phone as well as using email. He was very quick to respond to any question I had which I appreciated so much. The wedding took place at The Old Gray Barn which was about a 20-25 minute drive from the cabin. We ate one meal at Mulligans and one at Cilantro which are both in Manchester. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who might be looking to stay in this area! It will definitely be part of our memories from the wedding.
My husband and I and a group of our friends have been coming to the Manchester area for a weekend get away for the last 7 years. This is the 4th house rental we have tried and by far it was the best. The house was very clean which is always a concern--no one wants to spend time cleaning when starting a vacation. The house was large with plenty of room for everyone but still felt cozy and homey at the same time. The home is tastefully decorated and the big moose over the fireplace really gives it that Vermont feel. We enjoyed some time on the slopes at Bromley which was only a twenty minute ride and shopping and lunch in Manchester--just 10 minutes away. We normally do a nice dinner out but found ourselves a little snowed in which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened--the house is just such a nice place to hang out. Some of our friends enjoyed some time on the hiking trails out back which we look forward to exploring more next time. We are actually considering coming back with all the kids--the house is really designed well to accommodate a large group. The owner is very responsive and always got right back to me to answer questions--he really seems to enjoy sharing this lovely vacation home. We all look forward to coming back again--we might not wait a whole year to do it!
