LUXURY VILLA, STEPS TO THE BEACH W/ POOL & JACUZZI SLEEPS 6-10

From the moment we booked, I knew we were in for a treat. The owners were personally involved every step of the way, from helping us with transportation needs, recommending restaurants and things to do, and even some special favors during our stay that were way above and beyond the call of duty.

The villa is centrally located within walking distance of Minitas Beach, La Marina, golf, and the hotel central area. Although the villa is equipped with a four-passenger golf cart, at the owner's suggestion we rented a car which came in handy for lugging our golf clubs around, and traveling to places a bit farther away, such as the shooting center and the polo fields.

The villa mixes modern amenities, including a commercial-grade kitchen and unique outdoor shower, blend easily with Dominican art throughout the living areas. The villa's housekeeper/chef was very friendly and helpful, from preparing breakfast and lunch each day, to keeping up with laundry, and even preparing a four-course Dominican dinner. Another assistant maintained the outdoor areas on a daily basis, and helped with several errands that made our stay even more enjoyable.

Although all activities at Casa de Campo are world-class, the resort is a golf lover's paradise. Three fabulous Pete Dye courses are available: Teeth of the Dog, regarded as the best course in the Caribbean; The Links; and Dye Fore, perched on the heights overlooking the Chavon River (Altos de Chavon). Tee times were available as requested, and lower fees apply after 2pm on The Links and Dye Fore courses.

Restaurant choices range from pizza to fine dining. Our favorite is La Casita, located on the pier in La Marina, which offers a wide selection of entrees in a beautiful outdoor (but covered) setting. We also like Peperoni in the main square of La Marina, and the Beach Club by Le Cirque located at Minitas Beach. La Caña at the main hotel was also great, in a more sophisticated setting.

All in all, a perfect Spring Break to celebrate the upcoming college graduation of our youngest son!

This is an amazing property! Absolutely immaculate and even more stunning than the website photos; beautiful decor; outside garden and pool were idyllic! We were completely spoiled by the staff. Our maid cooked dinner one night for us, and it was heavenly. We all had a wonderful time visiting the hotel pool, beach and marina with the golf cart. Recommended: the Chavon River kayak trip; Catalina cataraman cruise; and Saona excursion (Seavis). Loved the Beach Club, La Cana, Altos De Chavon, Chinois, Limoncello, and La Casita in La Romana. The grocery store at the Marina is well-stocked and very convenient (make sure to locate the sneaky cubby space under the seats on the golf cart!)

The outside shower and orchid garden were other-wordly in a spectacular way. The children loved the pool table. We will not hesitate to recommend this property to our family and friends. A vacation we will not forget!

Our family of six experienced a marvelous vacation at this villa within Casa de Campo. The villa exceeded our expectations. It is very very accurately described. It is larger than I anticipated. It has an open space feeling with open doors from the living quarters and separate master suite centering upon the pool/jacuzzi and vibrant colorful landscaping. it has very comfortable furnishings that are "just right" I.e. not formal but high class casual. The bedrooms are larger than expected each with it's own bathroom. The master bedroom is truly a very large suite with an absolutely fantastic outdoor shower with orchids and flowers smiling at you each morning. It was a highlight for me to start each day with a shower in such a magical ambiance. Anna and Johnny are wonderful, warm and caring staff. Both speak English. Anna prepares breakfast each morning beginning with fresh juices and fruits and then customizes to your request. She also prepares lunch as you prefer. Johnny cares for the pool/grounds and will go with you to purchase fresh fish and market needs. The villa has a golf cart that seats four which is both fun and efficient to take advantage of the many offerings of Casa de Campo. We enjoyed watching our first polo game. Our kids enjoyed alternating between the lovely private beach within 5-7 minute walk from the villa with going to the hotel's pools and fitness center. Los Lago neighborhood even has a lap pool three houses from the villa. We enjoined dinning alfresco at the Beach Club overlooking the beautiful Carribean beach and water and also dinning alfresco at the Marina overlooking the spectacular yachts. One can be totally content living within the 7000 acre Casa de Campo resort; but my family also enjoyed going to nearby Bayahibe for paddle boarding, scuba diving, and a half day of chartered deep sea fishing as well as experiencing the local flavor of a Dominican beach town. The villa owners, Doug & Chris, are wonderful to work with and are prompt in their communications. We enjoyed our annual family holiday gathering so much that we place this experience amongst our favorite holidays over the years. We look forward to returning.
