Keywords: Full time English speaking maid and our pool boy provide personal care for golfers, sun seekers and sports enthusiasts. Centrally located in the Caribbean's most complete resort. Golf cart included.
Our son and our grandson enjoying a romp in the pool Christmas 2012 in Casa. Midwesterners' by birth, now living in the East (daughter just moved from Chicago to NY for Grad school); searched for years to find the perfect place and succeeded. Reliably great weather (even at Christmas), great golf, tennis, boating, trap-shooting,dining etc. and best of all wonderfully nice people. Happy and always helpful, we've found Dominicans' to be the nicest people in the entire Caribbean.
I continue to run my own business and find it quite easy to operate from the D.R. with phone and Free Wireless Internet access Through out the Villa. JFK to SDQ is 3+hours and the drive from SDQ to the Villa is about what it takes us to get to JFK from the North Shore of Long Island. Now only :45 minutes from Punta Cana airport on the new Coral Highway
Both of our children long out of school (save our daughter) now regularly bring other couples down every year when we're not all vacationing together or we aren't filled up with our friends.
The setting and the staff as well as the amenities make LL 106 perfect for relaxed entertaining and just plain good fun hanging out together. The place is 'not to be missed'
The Owner purchased this villa in 1997
As noted above, perfect and reliable weather, great golf and other facilities in the resort (including, tennis, scuba, Casa for Kids, horseback riding and much more). Quite easy to reach from New York & Chicago, incredibly nice Dominican people and my family loved it at first sight.
We have been coming to Casa and this Villa for 16 years every Christmas holiday as well as other times of the year. Our kids have grown up here and made numerous friends (as have we -- interestingly more non-American's than Americans). The kids and grand child all view this place as home, more than our regular residence in NY
I start each day at 7:00 with a short walk to the beach for a swim, typically no one else is there and the water is flat with an off-shore breeze. A drop in the Jacuzzi with coffee follows and the day is then 'planned' with the family. The big question is do we stay in or go out for dinner -- both equally good choices.
Los Lagos 106's central location makes access to golf, the marina, the beach or the hotel very easy and quick -- half the resort is west of 106 and half is east AND we are one house off the road that runs parallel to the shore & Teeth of the Dog. In fact LL 106 is about a 6 iron from the middle of the 4th fairway of the Teeth.
Just a 5 minute drive to fine grocery, wine and spirits stores. Outstanding up-scale shopping at the Marina.
The town of La Romana is only a few miles away. It's very safe, easy to access and the restaurants are very good and affordable.
Entire villa was in excellent condition, very clean and perfectly located near beach and other amenities. The staff cleaned the entire villa each day, cooked breakfast and lunch, cleaned pool and all ground. Pool temperature was fantastic. Bedrooms are great side. This is a great place to bring a family. The market is a quick 8 minute golf cart ride away which provides any/all food and drink you would like. The beach is literally 2 minutes in the golf cart which is very nice.
Would highly recommend.
My husband and I, with our two children 4 and 2, stayed at this home for a full week in December. My 4 year old asks regularly when we will return. They loved the kids camp at the resort!
Pros: Distance to the beach is a quick and easy walk. The beach is beautiful and very clean. We walked their every morning. Walking/jogging path just steps from the front door. Golf cart available to drive anywhere on the resort. House was always very clean and felt safe, even at night. Ana, the home caretaker, speaks excellent english and is a great teacher of Spanish (if interested). We met several families that had communication barriers with their home caretakers. Ana even babysat a few nights, which was a very easy transition for the kids because they were at ease with her immediately. Layout of house is great for several families. Bedrooms spread out with lots of areas to lounge. Location great to easily get to all of the restaurants around. Ana is an amazing cook and always willing to cook breakfast and lunch...even dinner (additional). Mr. Fox is the owner and seems genuinely interested that you have a great vacation. He is easily accessible and pays close attention to any special requests, needs.
Cons: There really are none. Honestly.
We hope to be able to return in the near future. It was the first vacation in a while that was more fun, than work...as it can often times be with children.
Wow! I am so happy with my choice to stay in this villa. I arranged a 7 day trip for my wife and I with two other couples. I was nervous prior to our arrival hoping that it would meet our expectations and not be a disappointment. We rented a van and drove to Casa de Campo, it was an easy 45 minute drive on a 4 lane highway. Check in was easy and quick. We were met by Anna when we arrived at the villa; I cannot praise her enough for how wonderful a person she is and how professional she is at her job.
The villa is exactly as presented, it is paradise! The bedrooms have air conditioning that made the nights very comfortable, even in June. The remainder of the home is open air and has a very tropical feel. Ceiling fans create a breeze and it is always comfortable.
The mornings begin with Anna serving breakfast either poolside or at the dining table; fresh fruit cut up with eggs, toast or muffins, coffee, and juice. Anna will make you whatever you want and you won't be disappointed. The mango and papaya were in season and were the best any of us had ever eaten.
A trip to the beach-5 minute stroll or a short golf cart ride- was always a delight. Anna would have lunch prepared on our return, again whatever you want and you won't be disappointed. She also prepared us a few dinners and would leave them for us on the stove. Highlights were the red beans and rice, black bean soup, fried chicken, fresh fish, and pumpkin soup.
Johnny was a great asset. He accompanied us to La Romana to buy fresh fish, took us to a great shop to buy gifts, and shopped for groceries with us at "Jumbo". He works hard maintaining the pool, and gardens. It is paradise....
Casa de Campo was beyond our expectations. It is first class in every way. Do not miss Alto De Chavon at sunrise and sunset, it is spectacular. Lots of fun can be had at the hotel pool and bar. The marina has a great grocery and some very good restaurants. The golf is world class with some of the most spectacular holes I have ever played.
This was a trip that made us all hate to leave and we are already talking about a return trip.
My husband (who is from Italy) and I (from the US) recently enjoyed our honeymoon at Doug's villa in Casa de Campo. We both live in London and have traveled extensively, so we had a hard time picking where to go on our honeymoon...we are so happy, lucky that we ended up at Doug's villa in CDC, where we loved every minute!
(1) the villa is in the best location in CDC (which is large)..just a few minutes walk from the beach
(2) Ana (the housekeeper) made us healthy, fresh breakfasts and lunch each day. must try- pumpkin soup (even in the hot weather. we had this twice!). we absolutely loved having the peace of enjoying lunch just the two of us by the private pool
(3) dinner at Le Cirque at the beach club. this was the most memorable dinner either of us has ever had
(4) spacious villa with plenty of comfortable places to lounge inside, outside, shade or sun. we were just 2 people and were spoiled for choice. many amenities available including tvs, pool table, a blender, waffle maker...
Overall, this was the perfect balance of gorgeous location, activities and privacy for a honeymoon vacation. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this for other readers considering the property.
The house is beautiful and the staff was amazing. It was a perfect vacation.
We just returned from a week in Casa de Campo and this outstanding villa. The staff, Anna and Johnny, were wonderful and took exceptional care of our family the entire time we were there. Anna is incredibly warm and is a wonderful and enthusiastic cook. Johnny was great and helped us run a few errands in addition to taking care of the pool, villa and grounds. The villa was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Our children spent a ton of time in the large pool and enjoyed simply lounging around the gorgeous pool area. We enjoyed the use of the golf cart and had a lot of fun taking it to the beach, marina, golf, etc. Casa de Campo is well known for its world class golf and it lived up to its reputation. We played a lot of golf and all of the courses there are spectacular. The owner was very gracious and helped us plan our golf itinerary. Minitas beach was a gem and was very close to the villa. The short golf cart ride to the beach was perfect and fun. All in all, it was one of the very best family vacations we've taken and we are already thinking about coming back next year!
This Villa is ideally located within Casa de Campo for people with an active lifestyle that enjoy sports and all that the Resort offers. It also appeals to families with small children who love the beach, since the beach is with in walking distance for even small children (less than 1/4 mile; one of the closest Villas to the Beach in the entire Resort). Finally, it's just perfect for those simply interested in relaxing, reading by the pool and having the maid and house boy take care of your every needs.
