Eagle River House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

***THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US THE #1 VACATION DESTINATION SPOT IN EAGLE RIVER!!! We truly appreciate all of your business!!!

Extremely unique vacation rental with all the amenities and comforts of home. Our place is a two bedroom/two bath log home with a huge fully stocked kitchen. If you do not find what you are looking for, just simply write us a note and we will have it for you the next time you come visit.

There are two large bedrooms in the main house. The Master bedroom has an attached bathroom, a large walk-in closet and a private deck overlooking the lake. The living room sleeps an additional four persons with a queen futon couch and 2 single futon chair/sleepers. There is also a mudroom with a washer and dryer for your convenience.

The main house also boasts a very large wrap-around deck where you can entertain to your heart's delight. There is a gas grill for grilling out and at the same time you can watch the deer, bear and other wildlife and, of course, listen to the magnificent loon calls. The bunkhouse above the garage is absolutely adorable and has two separate bedrooms, a powder room and a little kitchenette. The bathroom in the bunkhouse is inoperable during the winter months, typically November thru March, but is otherwise fully functional for sleeping.

Tambling Lake is a 169-acre private lake with awesome fishing. There is a 18' 50hp Palm Beach pontoon boat on site, or you can rent pontoons, canoes, and fishing boats just 2 miles away on the chain of lakes. There are numerous fishing tournaments on the chain and Eagle River is the snowmobile capital of the world. Go out our driveway and get on one of many trails right down the road.

The property is just three miles east of Eagle River and just blocks away from the chain of lakes. Boat Sport Marina is right around the corner. For the avid shopper, you are just minutes away from the most extraordinary shops. Rain or shine, Summer or Winter, there is always something to do around Eagle River!!!

Referrals are much appreciated! Ask us about our reward program for referring your family and friends.

Thanks to all of our renter's for making us the most popular cabin in the region for the 6th year in a row. We hope that everyone who wanted to book was able to. If not, it's never to early to plan for the future!

. The Loon's Nest' on Tambling Lake is absolutely one of the best vacation rental properties you will ever stay in. GUARANTEED!!!

Judy Spek Haynes purchased this house in 2006

I have been going up to the North Woods since I have been a little girl (which has been a very long time), and mainly stayed around the Eagle River-St. Germaine area. I still love the area so much and all it has to offer, that I had to have a place that I could continue to go to and also share with other people who can appreciate some of the most beautiful and serene places on the face of this earth.

We are avid snowmobilers and love the easy access to the trails that can take you hundreds of miles around the North Woods. We also love to boat and either spend the day on our private lake, where the water is crystal clear and the surroundings so peaceful or take the boat to the chain of lakes and spend the day going from lake to lake, stopping off at one of the many sand bars or visiting of our favorite establishments. You will never run out of things to do.

Nice home- some maintenance needed

Overall we were very happy with the Loons Nest accommodations and we had a good week. The home is nice with some good amenities. The large kitchen is definitely a plus (as our family loves to cook). We appreciated having the dishwasher, microwave and toaster oven as well as the regular oven. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer in the home. The refridgerator/freezer has good space, however the ice maker did not work at all.

The path to the lake is nice and we enjoyed using the pontoon. We were a bit disappointed about the condition of the water and the fact that we were unable to swim off the dock d/t weeds and poor water condition. We were also disappointed that there was no boat landing/access to the lake. I should have clarified this during our phone conversation prior to our arrival that the boat access was for the chain of lakes, not Tambling.

The issues we noted during our stay are as follows:

Futon leg (on the large futon) is broken

Futon chair (closest to the front door) seems to be broken- it did not sit correctly

The screen door off the dining area is ripped

Toilet in the master bedroom uses warm water- we have never heard of that before and are wondering if it was connected wrong. When the seat is left down, the warm water causes condensation on the seat… thus a wet seat when you sit down. The toilet seat in the master bedroom was broke and my husband fixed it (it would slide side to side when someone sat down).

Toilet near the main room was running constantly every time it was flushed- my cousin fixed this while we were there.

Air conditioning did not work- no air flow through the vents.

When we used the pontoon the first time it had not been cleaned- we had to wipe it down before using. Also the gas and oil were low and we filled both during the week. The cover for the pontoon is torn and was rolled up in a ball on the pontoon.

Propane tank for the grill was only half full when we arrived with no back up tanks. Although we didn’t use all of the half tank, we bought a new one to leave at the home

Numerous light bulbs burned out inside the home and outside. We replaced these during our stay. My husband fixed a light bulb ring in the kitchen as it had no light bulb in it and the ring was hanging out.

We did enjoy our week overall. However, most people don't want to perform any "rountine household maintenance" during vacation and want a clean, well maintained environment.

My husband and I love to snowmobile, and the Loon's Nest was the perfect place for us to stay. It's so great to walk out of the house, hop on the sleds, and be on the trails in minutes. The house is great, and everything you need is there. I especially enjoyed the decor, and the comfortable furniture. I slept so good in that bed! It's an amazing setting, and the owner's think of even the smallest details. We discovered Christmas lights both inside and out - that was impressive in my book! I can't wait to go back. We intend on making it an annual trip, and want to see it in the summertime, too!

Amazing anniversary getaway!

My husband and I spent our first year anniversary at the Loon's Nest and had such a wonderful time. We loved the coziness of the cabin and the fact that it had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen is so well stocked, I was able to whip us up some fantastic meals just as if I was in my own home. The property is beautiful and so peaceful and the surrounding areas are fantastic for walks. We loved being able to spend the mornings enjoying our coffee on the deck and the evenings relaxing by the fireplace with a glass of wine.

In addition, since we had never been to Eagle River we really appreciated the owners answering all of our questions and providing suggestions for places to go. On our actual anniversary night we had one of the best meals we've ever had at a nearby restaurant they suggsted....Lanny's Fireside in Conover. Sooo incredibly good. Food was outstanding and the service impeccable.

It was a memorable weekend and we will most certainly come again...this time perhaps with a group of friends as there is plenty of room. Thank you!!

All one would want and much more, set in a beautiful cabin/home in the woods on lake Tambling. Step out of the sliding glass doors onto the deck and breath the fresh, pine scents, hear the calls of the wild things, but most of all and perhaps best of all, just listen to the solitude. Then as a bonus, be up around midnight, step out once more onto the deck and see what "night" is SUPPOSED to look like. Dark, still, stars, more stars and the "Milky Way". So peaceful and serene, it gives one a sense of the enormity of God's creation. Loved this place, can't wait till next year!!!

In January we stayed at the LOON'S Nest for our 2nd time, it has always been wonderful; clean and comfortable! Our last two visits have been in the winter, it's a super location for snowmobilers (.25 miles from the trail!). The beds are super comfy, and the quiet is overwhelming. We cant wait to go back this summer with our families. Great location, close to lost of great food joints ( Twelve Pines has great fish and Pizza) the resort down the rode is a hoot! Great place for a night out or family Fun.
