Ocean Beach is known for their shops, antiques and beaches and for having the longest pier in Southern CA and you can walk all the way to the end! Wednesdays, Ocean Beach has a wonderful Farmer's Market 4-7pm complete with music, food, and lama rides! You can walk one block to Newport Cafe for your morning coffee/ tea, a bagel/ muffin and a newspaper. Ocean Beach is a small beach community a few miles northwest of downtown San Diego. OB is about as unpretentious as San Diego beach living gets. In many ways, it's kind of a quiet sleepy place that time forgot. It's one of the few places left in San Diego (or the rest of the country for that matter) where the shops are locally owned and managed, and there isn't a Baby Gap and a Pottery Barn on every corner. (However, if you are looking for this kind of shopping, it's only 15 min. away). It's a place where the O.B. Chili Cook Off, the Christmas Parade, and the 4th of July fireworks show are annual traditions.
This town home is also located near Sea World, Point Loma Nazarine, USD, Downtown SD and the Zoo. It is about a 10/15 min. ride from the Airport. La Jolla is 15 min. north just up the freeway. There is a bus stop at the corner for easy transit. This townhome comes with 2 parking spots (tandem). You can walk to all that OB has to offer including restaurants (from mom & pop style to 5 star) as well as shops, boutiques, bars and cafes. I highly recommend walking to Newbreak for your morning coffee and later Jungle Java on the main strip for a refreshment, people watching and often live music.
This condo accommodates up to 3 couples. There is a 'real' queen size bed in two of the bedrooms downstairs. The other bedroom upstairs has a comfotable raised queen size air mattress. There is also a twin sized air mattress that may be inflated to accommodate an extra person for an additional $10/ night and must be prearranged. You may have a Pac n Play upon request (no charge) but must provide your own pac n play bedding. Linens (towels/ sheets) are provided as well as 5 beach towels 2 boogie boards, and 2 chairs. Most kitchen gadgets, utensils, dishes, pots and pans are all provided as well as gas BBQ! Please keep covered when not in use. Beach cruisers/ bike rentals are up the street and mention my rental property for a special discount!
If you are interested in golfing, La Jolla is home to world renown Torrey Pines Golf Course and Torrey Pines Reserve for hiking exploring and great views. Mission Bay Golf Course is also a good choice and is lit for evening golfing!
This condo is great for R & R. Respectfully, this is not a party house.
Other areas of interest:
Mission Bay is also a lot of fun to walk, ride bikes, go boating or kayaking and has great playgrounds and BBQ areas! Also, you will have a great view of the Sea World fireworks from there or anywhere in OB. Just on the other side of the hill (5 min. by car) is Point Loma. Plan to visit the Cabrillo Monument and spend the day hiking and exploring. You can have lunch at a number of restaurants on the harbor.
SD Zoo is 20 min. away. Downtown SD/ Convention Center/ Petco Park is 15 min. away. La Jolla is 15 min. north
Old Town is 10 min. away You can also take the Old Town trolley to downtown so you do not have to worry about parking. Take a ferry downtown across to Coronado Island and visit the renown Hotel Del Coronado!
