Overview

Woodstock Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio Cottage, 1bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 4

Your perfect Fall romantic hideaway for two!

Luxurious studio cottage with private entrance and 6 person hot tub in its own courtyard. Feels secluded, but only 2 minutes stroll to little town of Phoenicia- recently voted one of the six coolest small towns in the US by Budget Travel Magazine!

2 minutes walk from restaurants, cafes and stores in Phoencia. This studio is architect designed with attention to detail- beautiful cedar lofted ceiling with skylights, bamboo floors and glass doors overlooking a lovely secluded bluestone courtyard . Super comfortable memory foam Queen bed and fold out futon. Wi fi, free Netflix movies via Roku and free long distance phone add to the allure. You'll love your own private hot tub in the studio's courtyard offering uninterrupted views of the stars. Perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or small family.

No car needed- Trailways bus direct from the Port Authority in NYC will land you within a couple of minutes walk from the studio.

Studio has a very basic little kitchenette with toaster, fridge, coffee maker and microwave and a few utensils. We are not set up for cooking as most guests eat at Brios and Mama's Boy only a couple of minutes walk from the studio, or venture out a few minutes to have breakfast at the fabulous new Phoenicia Diner on Route 28 or dinner at the Peekamoose in Big Indian. Brios has great wood fired pizzas, and Ricciardella's has the classier cuisine. The Peekamoose for locally sourced produce cooked with love and flair in a beautiful setting. The world class Emerson resort and Spa is three minutes away and boasts the wonderful Phoenix restaurant as well as offering an array of spa treatments. Enjoy a latte and free wi fi at Mama's Boys Coffee Shop. Ask about more dining options- we're happy to make recommendations. Basic self catering items can be purchased on the corner in the Phoenicia Supermarket.

Miles of pristine hiking trails await. The wonderful Tannbark Trail easily accessible from behind the studio from the back of the Parish Field. Hike 20 minutes to the top of the Mountain for great views of Phoenicia and surrounding mountains- if you're feeling fit, continue on the loop for another hour or so to experience woods, cliffs, little waterfalls and pure streams.

Phoenicia is Old World Americana- a hidden gem of a town on the verge of rediscovery.

Rent a bike at Mike's Bikes or find something surprising at The Mystery Spot or The Home Store. Monthly art openings at the Arts Upstairs are a blast and classic movies and home grown theater take center stage at the Shandaken Theatrical Society Theater.Take a train ride along the Esopus Creek from the Railway Museum just around the corner. The annual Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice, founded by the owner , opera singer Kerry Henderson, transforms our little town into a hub for the vocal arts in early August.

Walk five minutes in any direction, and you are in the middle of unbridled wilderness. Wonderful hiking accessible from behind our property, swimming across the street in the Esopus Creek, cross country skiing, snow tubing trout fishing, seasonal festivals, you name it!.

A haven for lovers, writers, artists, musicians, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

About Kerry Henderson

I'm an opera singer, gallery owner and arts festival organizer. I'm originally from New Zealand. I started the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice in the field behind our home four years ago and this has grown to become one of the most successful arts events in the region each summer. My wife, Bex is from Scotland and is a storyteller and actress and we have two young children, Rosa and Edrick. We've lived in many places throughout the world and consider the Catskills to be one of the most beautiful areas we have ever had the pleasure to spend time.

Wonderful place to getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Cottage as described on the website. Cozy, comfortable, warm accommodations located in a perfect spot - hiking trail right our back, and coffee shop/pizza a short walk away. Not a place to cook - as mentioned on the site. Hot tub was heavenly. Owners very responsive - never waiting long to hear back with questions prior to the visit, or during our stay. They even made a trip to the cottage with light bulbs when we informed them the ones there were burnt out. Already recommended place to two friends (dog friendly!) and we will be back.

Perfect Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect cottage for a long getaway. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 5 year anniversary truly with other and this was perfect! No phone service, no TV, just fun conversations and exploring the mountains around us! The private yard was amazing, we sat in the hot tub surrounded by fireflies at night, and by day we all lounged on the hammock reading (our two dogs included!).

The restaurants were much better than I could have imagined! We ate at Brios, Sweet Sue's, Alamo Cantina, Mama's Boy and all were fantastic. It didn't matter what we ate; it was good! Woodstock was about a 1-20 minute drive where we spent the day being tourists. We hiked the trail right behind the house and it's much steeper than it looks! But great views and totally worth it.

I can't wait to visit again! We really enjoyed ourselves.

Perfect little getaway

  • 4 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and we are wishing we were still there. With two sofas, tables, and queen bed there was ample room to sprawl out yet was compact enough to still be cozy. The incredible vaulted wood ceiling with skylights also added to the ambiance. Since this was a summer visit, the AC and ceiling fan kept us very comfortable. The natural cobblestone shower was also great. Luckily there were a lot of towels because we got to take advantage of the hot tub. The fire pit was the cherry on top, and given its placement we could light the fire outside, and open the front windowed doors to watch it from inside the cottage at night. Our only minor quip was that the bedsheets smelled a little musty. Overall, though, staying here was as easy and pleasant as could be. What a wonderful gem. :)

Damn near perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time during our weekend getaway. This cottage is the prefect location, very charming, and the hot tub was awesome on those chilled nights. It gives you the perfect view of the star filled night sky.

We had phenomenal food (Sweet Sue's and Brio), hiked the mountain trail from just around the corner from the cottage, and relaxed in a very comfy quaint room. We will more than likely be back!

Perfect getaway in Phoenicia

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely studio cabin, and my fiancé and I couldn't have been happier to have a cozy home to return to after exploring the restaurants and bookstores Phoenicia and Woodstock have to offer. Kerry has extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming from beginning to end. We spent hours in the hot tub, hiked up Mount Tremper, ate pancakes at Sweet Sue's, and wandered poked around all the cool little shops in the area. Wish we could have stayed for longer, and we hope to return soon!

Beautiful and cozy!

  • 4 of 5

This cottage was exactly as advertised and was the perfect stay for a birthday weekend. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. Kerry, the owner, was super helpful and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. The combination of the hot tub and fire pit for roasting marshmallows made the weekend complete and I can't wait to stay here again! Over all it was a great place to stay for a romantic weekend getaway and the entire location was perfect! We are super grateful to Kerry for being such a wonderful host.
