Located just a few feet from the water, this quaint cottage looks at unobstructed views of the wild mountains of Maine and pristine Donnell Pond (ranked as a Class 1A lake). Sandy beaches, small islands, hiking trails and camping sites lie on the State Wilderness Preserve surrounding more than 3/4 of this beautiful lake. The cottage has a screened-in porch as well as a deck and dock on the water where you can lounge and soak up the sun while taking in the views. The sandy bottom offers excellent swimming for adults and small children alike. The cottage is just 20 minutes away from the town of Ellsworth and approximately 45 minutes away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park! Enjoy your day on the lake and then drift off to sleep listening to the mesmerizing calls of the Maine loons. See more stars than you have ever seen before while sitting on the dock or out in the canoe! A perfect spot for getting away from it all!

Interior features of the camp include: kitchen; bathroom with shower; 2 small bedrooms, one with full bed, one with twin bunk beds; full size futon in living room; sofa in living room; furnished with linens, blankets and towels; washer and dryer; skylights; wood stove with fireplace screen; pine wood floors. Additional exterior features include: grill; dock on the water; two small kayaks; canoe. A public boat ramp is available for use.

Perfect family vacation or couples getaway!

Our family has been vacationing at this cottage for the past 16 years and we look forward to our time there each summer as our most precious family tradition. There is not a better spot on Donnell pond and Donnell is a very special lake! The view of the mountains and the quiet location provide a setting that can not be matched. There are various levels of outdoor areas beginning at the screened in porch for reading or relaxing, out to the deck for a family cookout or visit with friends, down to the beach for a swim and on out to the water deck to relax and enjoy the views! There is a gradual shallow area for children to play and swim and a float in the deep water to swim to. Truly something for everyone to enjoy!
The cottage itself is cozy, open and well kept while maintaing that feeling of camp that we grew to love! Truly the perfect family vacation!
