3BR/1BA Barn House

Come stay with us in our 3BR/1BA barn house at the top of Gilbert Hill, historic site of America's first ski tow (no longer functional, of course!). We are two miles from Woodstock Village, at the end of a private country road, with wonderful views of the Prosper Valley. Interior is recently refinished and furnished, with great hiking, biking, snowshoeing and sledding right outside the front door -- and the best of Woodstock outdoor and indoor activities and amenities within minutes drive.

The pictures don't do this barn justice! The views are fantastic, especially on a snowy day. The interior is charming and extremely clean with a great layout and lots of room to spread out. The location was perfect-5 minutes to Woodstock, yet private and quiet with those great views. Equally great are the owners, who kindly allowed us to reschedule after we had to cancel our first weekend due to the Feb. blizzard. Thanks Matt & Wendy for everything (including the wine and maple syrup!)

Very peaceful, yet only five minutes drive to downtown Woodstock. Views of the valley and surrounding hills are beautiful. The place was clean and the owners were responsive to inquiries. More than enough room for our family of four-- could easily accomodate twice as many. The kids had a great time playing in the snow and exploring nearby. We got in some awesome snowshoeing on nearby trails. Overall, a very relaxing stay in an ideal location.

If you are looking for a great place to unwind with all the comforts of home this is it! The Barn is very spacious and has a great layout, but the most spectacular part is the view. The large windows gave us a beautiful view of the valley and mountains North of Woodstock. Sunrise was especially breathe taking. We spent most of the weekend sledding right around the corner at Mt. Tom and that was definitely a highlight. Downtown is only a few miles away which made shopping very convenient. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and some fine Vermont syrup. The owners were quick to respond to emails during the booking process and very friendly! This home is super kid friendly--tons of puzzles, movies and books. Our toddlers were well entertained! We highly recommend "the Barn" and look forward to returning.
