Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
This beautiful home comfortably accommodated our 5 families of all ages. We were impressed with how well stocked it was with towels, cookware, games, etc. The views were amazing ... we saw elk crossing the river and moose on the hillside. We snowmobiled from the house every day and definitely enjoyed being away from the crowds in Island Park. It was also great snowshoeing along the river! The only complaints I heard from our group were sleeping related ... the linens were very nice, but some of the mattresses weren't comfortable and the walls seemed thin when part of the group stayed up late playing games. But, overall a wonderful place to stay!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind review. Just a note on the mattresses, all of them were purchased new in 2011 so this may just be a matter of preference as they are all the same make/model. The loft bedroom is directly above the kitchen/great room and at the time of this review there was a gap above the logs where they meet the ceiling of the house. We have since done everything we can to fill in this gap to improve sound however this is one of the main gathering areas of the house and playing games may be a little loud in any situation. We appreciate the 5 star review and want our guests to know we will do whatever we can to make their vacations enjoyable.

Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5
Our family enjoyed our stay at the cabin immensely. Even with a full house we had plenty of space for activities. It was clean and well maintained--my only request would be to install a screen on the window in the bedroom on the main level. It was very warm at night, but we couldn't open the window without a screen due to the insects. I wished we had known the river nearby was compatible for floating and we'd brought inner-tubes or rafts. The float trip on the Henry's Fork was a highlight for us. We would recommend the 5-11 Main restaurant in Ashton especially for their ice cream treats.

Owner's Response: Rosa Lee, thank you for bringing to our attention the lack of a screen. We have put in the request right away. We also have posted a top 10 things to do list on our website on the vacation planning page which includes floating the river. This may not have been posted when you made the reservation so we are sorry you missed out on that opportunity. We hope you come back again.

60 th Birthday

  • 5 of 5
Our whole family loved our stay in this beautiful cabin. We fished right below the cabin and had enough fish for two fish fried dinners. We went river rafting with the little kids on warm river, just down the road. We went to Mesa Falls,Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Tetons where we saw Buffalos, Elk, and Moose. The owner Drake was very nice and helpful to make this a dream vacation. The grandkids really loved all the games at the cabin, corn hole, video games and all the board games. This was a vacation that my family will never forget!

Father/Son Retreat in Secluded Luxury

  • 5 of 5
2 dads, 4 sons completed our 2nd annual retreat from the east coast to the ID/MT/WY area. Fantastic time, start to finish. It's not pretty seeing grown men getting wistful as they leave.

-Drake is super responsive and easy to work with
- the house (which I'll get to in a minute) is in easy driving distance from tons of stuff. We spent time ATV'ing in nearby sand dunes, hiking trails in Warm River Springs, doing a clay shoot, visiting Upper Mesa Falls and Harriman Park...with barely needing to refuel.
- the river outside is among the best for trout fishing in the country. Wade, float, cast from the shore -- whatever. Only note that the river is not exactly out the back door. You have to walk down a road. It'll be awesome if/when Drake & co. build a proper path from the house.
- The drive to Yellowstone is lit up by snow capped mountains in both directions and worth stopping along the way.
- Now, the house. It's like they built it with scalpels, the attention to detail is so thoughtful. High ceilings, stone fireplace, chef's kitchen, giant windows with river views, wrap around deck, etc etc. Rustic luxury without being cheesy. There's a hot tub too, though it'd be better if it was situated facing the river. We cooked and built fires every night, before reluctantly passing out from exhaustion.
- Wildlife abounds, eg moose crossing the river outside the house and munching shrubbery right in front of us. At Yellowstone, we saw grey wolves, a black bear, elk, and endless bison. Getting wistful again.

Anyway we're eager to return and happy to recommend it to others. A gem that'll only get better.

A Great Week

  • 5 of 5
The house was very nice and had everything we needed. The view was great, as was the fishing. Wildlife could be seen from the cabin porch - bull moose, mule deer, bald eagles. Easy access for day floats on the Henry's Fork. Furnishings were top notch.

This Place Has Everything!!!

  • 5 of 5
Wow!!! What an awesome place. Our family stayed a week and we loved it. Kids range in age from 2 to 17 and all had a great time. We loved waking up to the beautiful scenery. The owners have obviously taken great care in setting-up and maintaining this clean and very beautiful lodge. Drake and Lora were very helpful and great to work with - even answering a middle of the night call because of our own goof-up!! Thanks again for that!!! Very easy drive to Yellowstone, Rexburg, and tons of fishing and sights. We can't wait to go back next summer. Thanks for such a great place to stay.
