Eating Out in Lagos: We tend to favour the traditional taverns and adegas where authentic Algarvian dishes are served. There are two excellent local local restaurants next door to Patio do Convento called Escondidinho (fabulous fresh grilled fish) and Alberto's (excellent meat and fish dishes). Simply follow the road up the hill and you will find both restaurants just past the GNR /Police headquarters..
Local desserts and pastries are very good too. Try Pastes de Nata - a delicious Portuguese version of custard tart or Pudim Flan (known elsewhere as Creme Caramel).
Portuguese wines (red and white) are very good, very reasonable priced and readily available in the larger supermarkets such as Intermarche / Pingo Doces. If you're eating lunch a vinho verde is light and refreshing
Here are some recommended restaurants in and around Lagos :-
Five mins walk from apartment : Cafe Fresco (Modern friendly cafe with good quality English and European food - open for breakfast and lunch every day), Borsalino Italian Restaurant ( generous portions and great quality pasta / pizzas)
Near Marina: Adega de Marina (very reasonable fish & seafood).
Old Town: Casa do Pintor ( excellent French cuisine), Restaurante dos Artistas (Modern European, Very good / expensive)
Lagos Beaches: Meia Praia or São Roque - This broad expanse of sand stretches for 4 km (2.5 miles) and offers all kinds of facilities for those who enjoy water sports. Midway between Lagos and Alvor stands the 18th century Meia Praia fort and at the end lies Palmares Golf Course with its views over Alvor estuary.
West of Lagos lie a succesion of inlets and beaches overlooked by sandstone and limestone cliffs such as Praia de Luz, Salema, Zaviel and Ponta de Piedad where you can take a boat trip to the caves.and grottoes.
Other Activities Water Parks, Safari Trips, Zoo Marine (swim with the Dolphins)
Golf Information: This apartment is particularly suitable for golfers. There is plenty of room in the apartment for storage of equipment and the secure, underground parking and lift make loading and unloading easy.
With over 30 courses in the region you will be spoilt for choice....
- Palmares designed by Frank Pennink features 5 British style links holes on the front nine whilst the back nine meander through groves of almond and fig trees.

- Parque de Floresta is located in the hilly, rolling terrain of the western Algarve. The natural contours have been put to good use to create a course with a wide variety of type of holes each with their own individual character.
