Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

A private, newly renovated cottage surrounded by trees, mountain stream, fields, and spectacular view of the Presidentials. Abundant wildlife out the windows. Not uncommon to have a moose or bear walk by. You'll enjoy comfortable, restful nights in the serene intimate bedroom on quality bedding, including down and cotton. The adjoining bath provides a shower, fluffy towels, and a hair dryer. Unique architectural details throughout were added to create a cozy environment. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare simple or elegant meals with adjoining dining and spacious living areas. A collection of local guidebooks, maps and reading materials are provided. We've also compiled a list of our favorite things to do in the area, including hikes, dining, and day trips. Many windows let in natural light, sounds, and clean mountain air. There is a small adjoining deck to sit and have your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The adjoining field is a great place for evening stargazing, a campfire, or a picnic under the maple tree with a spectacular view of Mts. Madison & Adams.. Fall foliage is breathtaking, and in winter, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails start right out the front door. Five major downhill ski areas are within an hour's drive. Many amentities within 5 - 60 minute drive. Day trips can include a shopping trip to North Conway, a scenic trip up the Mount Washington Auto Road, canoeing on the beautiful Androscoggin River, adventurous hikes up Mount Madison or Mount Adams, or leisurely hikes on the hundreds of miles of trails in the White Mountain National Forest or the Randolph area maintained by the Randolph Mountain Club. Clear, cool mountain pools nearby for swimming.

This vacation cottage is what anyone would want for a relaxing stay in the Whites. My wife and I made this our first "vacation" since having our baby and we couldn't have asked for anything better. After going about 1 year without doing any significant hiking and muddling through urban city life, this was exactly what we needed to get us back into nature.

First, Larry and Yvonne are excellent hosts and know the community very well. They were always available for questions or recommendations. During our visit, it really felt like we were family that they hadn't seen in a while - but at the same time they always respected our time and privacy.

The cottage is very cozy. A simple living room with comfortable seating, nice bed, shower, clean linens, a kitchen with all the essentials (anything else you'd need, I'm sure Larry wouldn't mind letting your borrow from the house). There is also wifi that covers the entire grounds, and a washer and dryer. There's a great deck in the back of the cottage with a hammock for relaxing in the sun and a small grill. Most of the furniture pieces in the cottage (not to mention the cottage itself) were made or refinished by Larry himself which I thought was kinda cool.

The cottage grounds offer great views of Mt. Madison and Mt. Adams. There is also a garden and a large lawn to lounge on.

So whether you want to get away and hang out in a nice New England cottage in the woods or choose to stay at the cottage as a home base for lots of great hiking or outdoor excursions, this is a great find. You won't be disappointed.

Peaceful, awesome little house

We decided we were due for a quiet relaxing weekend. Being a couple from the city with two kids and we had yet to take our first vacation as a married couple. We chose to visit the white mountains. I came across this little house online and it was just absolutely perfect! The owners were so nice. The atmosphere is just unbelievable! We loved everything about this little house. We even decided to stay another night! We have found our spot and we intend to come back. In fact we plan to make this a habit. Thank you Larry and Yvonne for letting us experience such a beautiful place. You will definitely be seeing us again soon and that's a promise :)

So great we did not want to leave!!!!

My husband and I decided to go to this cabin to spend our first new year as a married couple. We enjoyed ourselves and the cabin so much that we did not want to leave, and in fact we stayed a few more days than planned.

The cabin and the place is great, everything was just perfect, perfectly clean, spacious, cozy and modern at the same time. The space was just what we needed for the two of us and our dog. The surroundings are beautiful to walk around and just enjoy nature.

If you are considering a trip to the White Mountains this is certainly the best option you will find.

Thank you Larry and Yvonne for such an amazing trip, and we hope to see you again very soon!!!

Lovely Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the romantic cottage for Christmas. Our host were amazing and did a great job of making us feel right at home. We got to attend a donkey and barn blessing on our first night, which was great. It snowed several days while we were there and we were able to go snowshoeing all round the area thanks to our hosts letting us borrow their snowshoes. The cottage is amazing and so homey. Everything was perfect and we would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Awesome!

Perfect place! Perfect location! Perfect hosts! We had a wonderful time just being in the very comfortable cabin. When we ventured out we were within easy driving distance of hiking trails, sight seeing and interesting events. We even took two trips over to the Stowe, VT area and made it back to enjoy another night's rest in a very comfortable bed. Can't even complain (if I was that kind of person) about the one thing hosts have no control over. We just happen to be there during a very rainy week. Larry brought maps and recommendations of areas where there were events or sightseeing spots that we could enjoy in spite of the weather!!! A great experience, start to finish! Hope we can back some day.
