I am an artist. I own and operate the Blue Ginger Gallery located in Kainaliu, Kona. I came to live on the Big Island 28 years ago. I have lived at this Manini Beach location for 23 years. I love the ocean.
I enjoy snorkeling and paddle boarding in the Bay when ever possible!~
This old Hawaiian village is very special.
There is lots of history yet to be told here! The relaxed lifestyle and neighborly feeling never changes. Mostly, I love the pristine ocean here, it is like nowhere else on earth, combined with tropical smells and the quiet in this quaint neighborhood of Napo`opo`o.
I really enjoy jumping into the clean magical water at Manini Beach. There is cold, underground, mountain water which enters the ocean at Manini Beach. This creates brackish water which is supposed to be healing. I always appreciate swimming with the beautiful reef fish and the sea turtles, the visibility is beyond compare. Also, the beach access road is wonderful for biking or jogging. Walk to Manini Point for a sunset and watch whales breach in the winter months. Dolphins play all year round.
Swimming with the Spinner dolphins is a breathtaking experience for anyone to enjoy, young and old alike!
