Great home away from home

My family and I stayed in this house recently and loved it. The house was clean and was well stocked with all the amenities we needed. It's close to a grocery store so we were able to stock the fridge with food we wanted for the week very easily. The backyard has an entry way to the beach, which was absolutely amazing. Not only was it great being that close to the water to swim and enjoy the sand, but also to hear it at night. The house does not have an air conditioner, but that didn't bother us at all. Opening up all the windows in the bedrooms and living room cooled it off almost immediately. The bedroom on the back of the house overlooked the ocean and the sound of the water was amazing to sleep to. One thing to note about the ocean - the beach is pretty steep outside the house and the tide gets high late in the afternoon. So if you want to enjoy the beach right in the backyard, you should do so in the morning when the tide is low. But, there is nice beach area a couple houses down that we walked to and enjoyed. The water is also very shallow and pretty rocky in some areas, so we bought beach shoes and they worked great. The location of the house was also great. It's located directly across the street from the Polynesian Culture Center, which is an awesome experience! It's also close to Turtle Bay where they offer surf lessons and good dining. There isn't much to the town, but it was fun to walk around the neighborhoods because it was small and there wasn't much traffic. If you are looking for a quieter town to stay in, Laie is a great option, as compared to Honolulu. However, if you want to go to Honolulu, it's not a bad driving distance. If we ever make it back to Hawaii we would definitely stay here again!
