This self-catering holiday rental apartment has been recently renovated to a high standard. Midway between Carcassonne and Toulouse, it is easily reached from the A61 yet is peaceful and secluded. Set at one end of a 17th c. stone farmhouse it is private, spacious, and well-appointed. The swimming pool is hidden among hedges overlooking rolling countryside of wheat and sunflower fields, far from the nearest road or neighbour. The predominant sounds are birds and church bells across the fields. A small canal with a shady hiking and bicycling path is a short walk from your front door. A small village with baker, butcher, bar and restaurants is 5 minutes away. The World Heritage site Canal du Midi is 6 minutes away. There is plenty of room for children to play while you rest in the shade with a glass of wine or try your hand at a game of petanque on our own boules court.

Shop and eat in Labastide d'Anjou, Villefranche de Lauragais, St. Felix de Lauragais, Revel, La Pomarede, Castelnaudary, Mirepoix and Limoux. Visit Durfort, Soreze, Montolieu, not to mention the major sites in Albi, Toulouse, Carcassonne, and Foix. Enjoy wine tasting in the Fitou, Cabardes and Corbieres.

Calm, quiet, restful. : We are in the middle of gently rolling countryside, well away from the nearest road or neighbor. Ride bicycles right from the gite to the tree-shaded canal path a minute away, or enjoy our three-acre garden with pool, swings, and boules court. Although secluded, our farmhouse is only a 5-minute drive from a village with butcher, baker, bar/cafe, restaurants, pharmacy, medical clinic, and post. The Canal du Midi is 5 minutes away.

Convenient. : We are about 45 minutes from the airports and train stations in Carcasonne and Toulouse. We can be reached from the A61 motorway in 15 minutes. Most necessities are available in the village 5 minutes away; supermarkets are 15 minutes away.

Central. : We are ideally positioned for visits to all of the major sights in the area.
