The cabin is situated on a horse farm. The cabin is over 200 years old but totally restored and updated. It has all the modern conveniences and comforts of a new home and all the rustic charm of a historic log cabin.
We do offer stabling packages for those seeking to bring their horses (availability may be limited please inquire early).
The area is great for exploring, shopping, dinning, museums, or driving through the countryside.
The cabin is the perfect get- away from what ever you need a break from in life. Your privacy is assured.
Me, my beau, and our pup wanted to get away from it all and just relax. Well, this was just the place for that. The historic cabin was no frills, but had everything that we needed. We came on a weekend directly following a snow storm that brough 8 - 10 inches to the area. No worries, it was beautiful. Although, since the cabin is very old, it was unable to get warm on the first floor due to drafts since it was about zero degrees that evening. And that effected the pipes to the shower the next morning. We needed to wait until the sun warmed up the place a bit first.
This was our second visit here....again, I have to say its one of our favorite places to go. The cabin is wonderful; and Wendy & Travis are a delight...of course, the best part of staying here are the dogs, Phoebe & Newman....they are a joy to be with. We have stayed at quite a few of these VRBO's and while most of them we find quite nice, this one is a hidden treasure. We would like to go visit again in the spring....If you are trying to choose a place to go and you are looking for a quiet, easy place to stay, don't hesitate to choose this one. You will love it....Chrissy, Art, & Ruby
The cottage was an absolute country dream, perfect for two people looking for a getaway from a busy city. Wendy and Travis were extremely friendly and accommodating to any of our needs throughout our time at the cabin. Inside, there were all the essentials one could need including pots, pans, silverware, candles, and more! We were able to spend our days walking around the horse stables, playing with the dogs Phoebe and Newman, hiking in the woods, and photographing the beautiful landscape. The little getaway was truly a joy and we are so thankful to Wendy and Travis for everything.
One of those places you won't want to leave. Such a charming cabin, a perfect combination of old-world charm with updated conveniences. Very clean & everything you need is provided. We needed a distraction from stress & that's exactly what we got. If you are in need of some peace & quiet, this is a great choice, & if you do want to roam around, lots to do just a short drive away. Be sure to visit the Amish markets for delicious baked treats. Beautiful grounds to walk around & see the horses, sit by the fireplace on a cold night. You might be lucky like we were & get visits from the dogs. Thanks so much to Wendy & Travis for making our stay such a nice one, Art & Chrissy & Ruby (our dog).
Everything we were hoping for. Thank so much. We will be back! Dan & Melissa
My wife and I came here to spend a quiet anniversary weekend. We couldn’t have been more pleased. The cabin is situated on a very pretty farm about an hour (give or take) outside of Philadelphia. The cabin really has everything you need for an extended stay (except for food) so most of what we brought wasn’t used. There was even a dictionary on the bookshelf we used during an epic scrabble game. Kudos to Wendy, the owner, for being so welcoming and inquiring several times throughout our stay if we needed anything. We also really appreciated how flexible Wendy was in letting us stay late into the afternoon on our last day so we could enjoy the farm. One of the highlights of our weekend was getting to know Phoebe, one of Wendy’s dogs. Phoebe accompanied us on several long walks on the surrounding trails and completely won our hearts. Overall, a very memorable weekend. We will certainly be coming back.
