WICKED- WATERFRONT HOME ON LAKE SEBAGO, FRYE ISLAND ME

Frye Island House Rental Photos and Description

4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, sleeps 8

The architecture and detail of this home is amazing. As soon as you step through the door, its warmth and charm puts you into a total relaxation mode. You could only be in Maine. Nestled on an acre lot with over 220 feet of Sebago Lake shoreline, in a neighborhood of seven, upscale, million dollar homes, you are in a private cul de sac named Emerald Point on Frye Island, Maine.

We have named our house Wicked as in the Maine idiom for exceptional. It offers 4 bedrooms which accommodate 8 guests comfortably. They consist of the master bedroom with queen bed, two large bedrooms with twin beds and one small bedroom with a bunk bed. In addition to the living room, there is a lovely windowed atrium which is perfect for relaxing. A large deck spans the entire length of the back of the house for outdoor living and entertaining. There is a deep water dock with whips to accommodate your boat, along with a swim ladder. A mooring buoy is also available offshore. A shoreline retreat of four chairs and side tables is available to sit, relax and listen to the sounds of the lake and the cry of the loon. The lavender garden provides a lovely fragrance with the breeze.

Frye Island offers a great life style with 22 miles of roads for walking or jogging. There is a golf course, tennis courts, marina, play ground, community center, pool, café/bar, store, town office, post office, and ball field/ park.

The island is open from the last week of April to the first week of November. The residents consist of young families to retirees. The island is accessed from Raymond, Maine by ferry. It is a ten minute ferry ride with several runs per hour. When Maine declares that this is “the way life should be”, this is the property that defines the meaning.

Frye Island is located in Sebago Lake approximately 25 miles west of Portland, Maine. It became Maine's newest town in 1998, and the wonderful memories of that glorious July Fourth weekend will live on for years to come. There are two ferries that provide transportation to & from the Island on a scheduled basis. The Island is easy to find, just head towards Raymond, Maine on State Route 302.. There is a wonderful nine hole public golf course on the Island. A popular place on the Island for both people on the Island and boaters on Sebago Lake is Frye's Leap General Store & Cafe. There is a private marina with in-water boat docking for property owners on the Island; some slips are available for weekly rental for visitors and renters staying on the Island.

WICKED - SUMMER RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
This was a lovely cottage, set back a bit from the waterfront, but an easy stroll to the dock. (We were here in August, plenty of blueberry bushes on the property.) The cottage is beautifully decorated, providing lots of private space as well as family space. We had a couple of folks needing to stay 'connected', which worked easily, and the cottage provided for lots of separate space where you could conduct phone calls, check emails, without ever losing a view of the lake. The cottage was VERY clean, well appointed. We brought a couple of favorite pans and casserole bowls, but we never needed to use any of it. Plenty of good glassware, etc.
The owners went out of their way to accommodate and fix anything that went awry. They have a dedicated maintenance man, who was terrific. I would definitely recommend this property; from our observation, one of the best rentals on the island! We would definitely recommend this and/or come again ourselves.

I'LL BE BACK EVERY YEAR!

I'll be back every year!

First...Michelle was wonderful! So efficient, so knowledgable, and so nice, I almost wanted to bring her along for my vacation! Wicked (named, I'm sure, after the smash Broadway Musical!), was incredible! Just minutes from the little General Store in "town", and only steps from the lake! Bring you canoe or kayak! Bring your fishing poles (not my thing...but have at it!) Grill out, or cook a fancy dinner in! Eat in my favorite room! It's like a little light house attached to the house (without the light, of course)! Watch TV! Read! It's so quiet here, I literally lost all track of time, and was able to actually relax!!!

Also important...laundry! The washer/dryer is great! Lots of bathrooms...you could come with several people...or alone! The master bedroom has it's own bathroom...and opens onto the deck!

I cannot say enough good things about my time here! In short, the area is so beautiful, and the house so grand...your only issue will be deciding whether or not to go outdoors, or stay inside.

SERENITY NOW!

  • 5 of 5
I have had the pleasure of vacationing at this home for 2 years now and I crave its peaceful surroundings all year long. The views here are so fabulous that I have photographed them to hang in my own home, so that I am reminded of their serentiy when I need it most. The house is beautifully kept and Frye Island is just such a unique place to visit. From the ferry ride, to the rocky beaches, my favorite local shops, and the beautiful birch trees. Everyone on the island uses golf carts to get around which I love. Its a private island, quiet, and tranquil. A nice change from the hustle and bustle of tourists on east coast beaches. This place has been an excellent haven to escape to with friends. we have had so many laughs here! The weather has been wonderful both times I visited...but even the rain here seems beautiful. My favorite room is surrounded in windows, perfect place just to read a book...the breezes throughout this home are magnificent. My only regret is having to leave. I highly suggested escaping to this house! Hurry!
