rockers retreat owner justin palmieri is a Long island native, he moved to the mountains to snowboard and live in the country where time moves slower.
He's the drummer -singer for the band 'Don't Call Betty', also the owner of green river concrete he custom builds residential and commercial kitchen countertops, bar-tops, bathroom sinks, & outdoor elements. He still makes time to ride and backcountry all winter with his girlfriend extreme skier asia magriby who is the mother of two mini shredders chase and logan, also owner & designer of jay river creations an online artisan boutique.
Asia Magriby purchased this house in 2006
He bought it because he wanted to live in a winter wonderland far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Where he could snowboard deep powder (jay peak reknown for this), and not miss any storm.
Yet the rockers retreat is special because its located 5 miles away from the resort life and is nestled in the valley on a country road where the sun shines longer, the views are beautiful, and large pine trees surround you.
We have customized our home to feel warm and inviting and to reflect our talents for design. Our home has one of a kind cement counters and bathroom sinks, we have lots of barnwood moldings and a cozy pellet stove that lets off such a nice heat after a cold day at the mountain. The house is large and flows easily with living rooms on two sperate floors.
The best though is the indoor hot tub, now that is worth its weight in gold- you'll see.
We loved staying here last year so much that we came back again this year. The house is spacious with 4 bedrooms and a sitting area upstairs and so cozy with the pellet stove burning in the first floor kitchen/dining/living area. A wood fireplace too! The hot tub surrounded by windows hits the spot after a day of skiing/snowboarding at Jay Peak, just few minutes drive away. We love the open concept on the first floor for when we cook and serve and eat dinner together. The couches are right there too and so comfy! We look forward to next year!
My husband decided for his 60th birthday he would gather our adult children and significant others to join him at Jay Peak for a few days of skiing. This rental was perfect! It is a 10 minute easy drive to the mountain. The downhill skiing was awesome as was the cross country skiing. The house was so comfortable we stayed in both nights and cooked dinner. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, appliances etc. You just need to bring your own food. Everyone took advantage of the hot tub after skiing. It's in a sunny room off the dining area. The house is bright and cheerful. We had a fire one night in the woodstove to make for a cosy evening. The mattresses were very comfortable. There is also a sitting area on the second floor where you can get away for some alone time. I would highly recommend this rental.
Clean and Nice house. Very Nice vacation !
We truly enjoyed this cozy home close to Jay skiing. The hot tub was great and the stove was very cozy and heated the unit well. The kitchen supplies were the best we've found in all of years of renting. The decorations were beautiful and we had a great time sitting around on the couch after skiing and after dinner recounting the days events. We hope to make back up there one of these days--it was definitely worth the trip for us and given all the snow that we had, we so glad that you were so close to the mountain. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable!
We had an unbelievable experience for a weekend away with friends and family. Easily sleeps 10 people with all the amenities you would need. The beds are comfortable and the place was very clean. The decor is brilliant and makes the place feel very cozy and warm. All in all we had an awesome experience and have already begun talks to stay again in the future, highly recommended for anyone looking for a great getaway.
This home is in the town of Jay, VT about 5 miles from Jay Peak ski resort. The resort is now a four season destination. The resort has built an 18 hole championship golf course and the first indoor water park in Vermont. They have also built an NHL regulation indoor ice rink and a conference center to host many functions. There are 5 restaurants to choose from and the skiing and riding is some of the best in the East with over 350 inches of snow a year on average.
