Trullo Alto Marks Places Alberobello Puglia Italy
Trullo Alto is situated just on the outskirts of Alberobello, a small traditional Italian town with some lovely restaurants and interesting things to do. The property is located off the beaten track in a beautiful elevated spot overlooking rolling hills and hand farmed land. We have stayed in many villas in Italy over the years and I have to say this is the most beautiful accommodation we have stayed in (and we have stayed in some rather nice ones!). The properties are located in extensive gated/walled grounds which incorporate a delightful mix of Cherry and Olive trees. There are no busy roads anywhere near the property. The only traffic to speak of at its busiest is a friendly local farmer driving past on his old tractor once or twice a day! Cars can either be parked near the property or down towards the gate where there is a dedicated parking area. Individuals with mobility constraints can enjoy the accommodation as much as anyone else.
There are two traditional stone properties which are adjacent to each other(Trullo Alto and Olivio), Trullo Alto is a 3 bed property plus a sofa been in the lounge and two bathrooms and Olivio is a 2 bed property. Both are ancient stone buildings that have been restored to meticulous attention to detail. The walls internally and externally are 3 foot plus thick stone and so they keep the properties pleasantly cool, despite the soaring Italian temperatures. The property is well equipped with a 4 hob cooker, combination oven/microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, fridge inside, stone work surfaces and all the kitchen utensils, pans and crockery you could possibly need to feed your family. A large fridge freezer is located in the utility building where the washing machine and tumble dryer is situated. There is a table and chairs inside in the lounge/kitchen diner. Other facilities include a flat screen TV, DVD payer, hifi and wireless router for internet. Comfy beds and ample cupboards.
Outside, there is a large stone table to the front of the property with the view under the cover of the wooden sun blind; a rather pleasant way of enjoying breakfast and other meals. The pool is discreetly gated and fenced (so to keep young ones from venturing in unsupervised) the pool is a decent size and was perfectly clean with both full sun and shaded areas to retire to.
In all, the accommodation was fantastic and we had a wonderful holiday with lots of things to do in the area.
