Bayswater and Queensway tube stations are both less than 100m away and Hyde Park is just 50m away! Queensway has many shops and restaurants which are open until midnight and beyond (even Boots the chemist) and there is ice skating, 10 pin bowling, a multi screen cinema, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tesco. Being in Zone 1 of London this is the deal spot to branch out and see the city as many sights are within walking distance and there are a huge variety of tubes to catch to take you to the rest of central London within 10minutes. It is a short distance from everything in London, including shops on Oxford Street, Buckingham Palace, Mayfair, the London Eye, Harrods, Notting Hill/ Portobello Road and the market, London Zoo, Madame Tussaud's, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Royal Albert Hall, Lord's Cricket Ground, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament - everything! The private hospitals on Harley Street and the Financial District are also a short distance, with excellent links on our doorstep (circle line, central line, district line). The Heathrow Express is close, taking you to the airport on a 15 minute train journey. All your daily needs are catered for on the street with many shops and restaurants. Exploring UK More: Oxford: There is the Oxford Tube, a coach (10 minutes walk) that takes explorers to the centre of Oxford in 100 minutes. Things to do include:- Christchurch Gardens, punting on the river. Ask for advice as we have both lived there.
Cambridge: A train ride (1 hour) from Kings Cross.
Brighton: Train ride
Stratford-Upon-Avon... The New Forest....

For those seeking some exercise, walking/ cycling/ roller blading in the park; ice-skating, 10-pin bowling, cinema, exercise classes, Victorian swimming pool (and spa!), horse-riding; paddle boating on Regent's Park lake, etc!....
The Orangery for quintessentially English cream tea (with or without Champagne!) al fresco. Whiteleys shopping centre, Queensway shops for groceries, etc. The best underground and bus links within 3 minutes walk. Yet we are in a calm, mansion block residential building. A haven and sanctuary to come home to, that peacefully sits in the buzz of London life!

Ski:
The Snow Centre is the UK's newest premier indoor snow sports destination, with a 160m indoor slope of prime quality snow! (even when its not winter!). This is in Hemel Hampstead, a train ride away (27 miles away).
Golf:
There are a few golf clubs in and around London. The one that we are aware of is in Chiswick, called Dukes Meadows. The famous Wentworth Golf Club, famous for its Championship golf and 3 outstanding courses is in Virginia Waters (23 miles). Close by is a reservoir where you can windsurf and sail.
