I can't even begin on how much we loved our stay in your home. The history behind the house, how well its decorated, and the location are absolutely amazing. It was so peaceful to sit out on the front porch and have coffee watching the buggies go by. This is by far our BEST vacation to Lancaster yet! We will definitely be back!

Hello and thank you for considering a stay at The Homeplace at Trailcrest Farm. My name is Edie Landis. I am a happily married, busy mother of 4 (center in pic) who loves to write and garden and raise a small flock of chickens in my backyard.

Several years ago, my husband inherited the old farmstead he grew up. What do you do with a second home? We renovated and upgraded it and turned it into a home-away-from-home for visitors to Lancaster County, PA. The clean and quaint farmhouse has been welcoming travelers since 2003. Be sure to visit my website (link above) for more photos and information. I look forward to hearing from you.

Edie Landis, Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2002

We rent the farmhouse out to visitors for two reasons: First we want to bless our guests with a calming, refreshing visit and second, we're trying to preserve the farm for our children to inherit when they're grown. Your business helps support family farming.

+ Bring young children back to a quiet, restful place for their afternoon nap.

+ No worrying about noisy neighbors (or that you or your children will disturb others.)

+ Amish neighbors.

+ Strasburg is right in the heart of a majority of Lancaster County attractions.

+ Quiet, safe neighborhood. (Some neighbors are family, the rest are Amish &/or long-time residents.)

+ Plenty of room for outdoor play. Fenced in yard. Jungle gym.

+ Some farming, depending on time of year.

+ From porch, sunroom, deck or fenced-in yard you can watch the cows graze, variety of birds, or Amish walking by or riding their horse and buggies.

+Farm fresh eggs available upon request.

*Gifts Certificates available.

*Reduced Rates from Fall through Spring. See main page for actual rates.

*Mastercard, Visa and Discover accepted.

Everything We Hoped For

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time in Lancaster County and could not have asked for better accomodations or hospitality. You were so gracious - having milk, cereal and coffee provided on our arrival plus the whoopi pie, printing for us and allowing us to use your mailbox each day. While the weather was at times challenging, we were comfortable and cozy in the farmhouse. We had amazing interactions with the Amish each day and really enjoyed the Bird-In-Hand Theatre on opening night of Half-Stitched. When we return, and we will, we look forward to staying at The Homeplace at Trailcrest Farm.

Amish Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I along with our grandchildren ages 12 and 14 enjoyed our stay in your house very much. We found it to be exactly as you described. The setting was beautiful and the house was clean and met all our needs. The central location allowed us to visit many sites in Pennsylvania and return each evening to a quiet, restful home. We would highly recommend this home to anyone interested in visiting the Amish country.

Serenity

  • 5 of 5
The farmhouse was such a peaceful place to stay to unwind and forget all the stress that a big city (NYC) . We were here with our two boys (ages 2 and almost 4) for the Day out with Thomas event at Strasburg Railroad. They simply loved the "maison". My husband said it reminded him of the South of France where he grew up before coming to the New York almost 25 years ago. We were all sad to leave such serenity but will be back in September.

Comfortable and relaxing

  • 5 of 5
After a stay in Washington, this farmhouse was like going back in time in the best possible way. Surrounded by peaceful, beautiful countryside, you will see Amish people driving their buggies from the front porch.
The house was beautifully and authentically decorated, yet contained all the comforts we needed.
It is very convenient for the village of Strasburg, lovely home cooking at the nearby Hershey Farm and the Hans Herr house. The highlight is of course the sense of timelessness you get from the Amish community.

Wonderfully peaceful!

  • 5 of 5
The farmhouse was absolutely charming. We are a family of six and fit in the home perfectly. The location is close to so many things....Strasburg Railroad, Sight and Sound, Amish House and Farm. We enjoyed the surrounding quiet and hearing the crickets in the evening. Our children were sad to leave and we hope to return.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5
This is a wonderful location to stay at. It is perfect for a family of five or six. The property is surrounded by lush Amish farmland; we woke up many days to see carriages going past the property. The farmhouse itself is decorated with beautiful antiques side by side with modern conveniences. We plan on coming back again for a longer stay, and you'll probably want to do the same!
