WATERFRONT WITH HOT TUB & PANORAMIC VIEW OF MOUNTAINS, SEATTLE

Bainbridge Island House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Waterfront luxury beach house with spectacular 180-degree views of Seattle, Mt. Rainier, Cascades, and the Seattle skyline from all living areas (including from bed in master bedroom). Private hot tub (May 15-Oct. 15). Located at Skiff Point on the eastern shore of Bainbridge Island, the Rising Moon Beach House is just a 35-minute ferry ride from Seattle, and only minutes by car from the ferry landing.

This vacation rental is the top two floors of a house perched on a coastal bluff overlooking Puget Sound. Spectacular in any season, its crown jewel is the master suite, with panoramic views of the mountains and Seattle from the queen bed and also from the deep soaking tub in a tiled, slate-floored bathroom.

Night and day, wildlife abounds along our coastal bluff. Many bird species are regularly seen, including bald eagles, osprey, blue herons, loons, swallows and songbirds. We have a year-round population of iridescent-throated hummingbirds that probably will visit you on the deck (you also can see them lying in bed in the master bedroom). We have seen (and heard) Orca whales from the yard, as well as pilot whales, sea lions, seals, and otters.

The master suite on the top floor consists of a large bedroom with a sitting area and loveseat, and a raised bed nook with a queen bed surrounded on the south and east by 7-foot long windows that afford a panoramic view of Puget Sound, the Seattle skyline and Mt. Rainier. A furnished deck off the master bedroom provides the same view, and is a delightful spot for your morning coffee. The second bedroom, also on the top floor with a queen bed, pampers your senses with its designer colors and views of the City, Puget Sound, and Mt. Rainier.

The living room features a gas fireplace, huge bay window, and cushioned window seat looking out to the water and professionally landscaped yard. Patio doors lead from the dining area to a large private deck for bar-b-ques. Or if you prefer to be even closer to the water, next to the bluff is a bluestone fire circle where you can build a campfire. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting next to a crackling fire, listening to the rhythm of the waves on the beach--unless it's soaking in the hot tub, which is accessed by a bluestone path around the side of the house, or lying in bed and watching the moon make a silver path across Puget Sound.

The ever-changing view from your windows and yard will include every variety of maritime traffic that plies the Puget Sound shipping lanes, from cargo ships heading into Elliott Bay, to tankers, cruise ships, tug boats, Coast Guard cutters, and even aircraft carriers.

It's an easy walk from the house to the historic Rolling Bay Cafe for your morning coffee, or the Island Music Center for an evening of jazz or bluegrass. Live theatre and musical performances are also offered at Bainbridge Performing Arts in Winslow, a 10-minute drive from the house.

Bainbridge Island has an abundance of excellent restaurants, seven artisan wineries and tasting rooms, two state parks, and the award-winning Bloedel Reserve with 150 acres of spectacular gardens, ponds, and trails. In season, you can bring your fishing gear and waders and try your luck in front of the house (access to the beach is just half a block down the street), or you can rent a kayak in Winslow and explore Bainbridge from the water. Most likely, though, you will want to spend most of your time enjoying the Beach House, where the stresses of the world melt away.

Your hosts live on site and are available if you need directions, suggestions for sightseeing, or any other assistance.

Location location location!

We recently returned from spending a month at Rising Moon Beach House, and we could have happily stayed longer. The views from every room of the house as well as the two decks are breathtaking. The house is attractive, comfortable and very clean, and Kathy and Al have gone to considerable trouble to make it a relaxing place to spend a vacation. They were very responsive to any questions or concerns that came up. We had easy access to all that Bainbridge has to offer, and the ferry made it easy and fun to go to Seattle for shopping, restaurants and a ball game. Rolling Bay, an easy walk, is a sweet little village with a café, a general store (Bay Hay and Feed), and an excellent Italian deli (Via Rosa). Just three miles away is Winslow with more restaurant and shopping options. Bainbridge has several state parks with beaches and hiking trails, and the Bloedel Reserve is a real treat. The Olympic Peninsula is nearby and worth visiting. Then again, I could have spent the whole month sitting on that deck watching the views change and the birds and ships come and go. Rising Moon gives new meaning to the idea of a relaxing vacation.

Lovely Getaway!

  • 5 of 5
Four of us visited Seattle from Canada and had the pleasure of being welcomed by Kathy to her lovely home - it really felt like a home away from home and offered the perfect way to enjoy Seattle by day and retire back to a serene bedroom community by night. This getaway is spotless, the view is fabulous and nothing in terms of amenities has been overlooked. Overall, a star performance! Thank you!

A Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5
Our destination was Seattle but we knew the name Bainbridge Island and decided to get a rental away from the city. We spent two days in Seattle and one day we drove the Olympic Peninsula. The location was great and the house is stunning. It was wonderful to go home to the peace and quiet of the island after a day in the city. The view is spectacular and we were lucky enough to see Mt. Ranier. An eagle landed in the tree in the yard and ate his fish as we watched. We believe a whale went by, and there were seals, otters and loons.

The house is incredibly well equipped. You can pack light as they probably have most everything you need (like 2 pairs of binoculars). Thanks to our hosts. We will certainly come back if we find ourselves in Seattle.

Soothing, Healing, and just Peaceful

  • 5 of 5
We booked this house for three days following my brother's memorial service as an opportunity to decompress and unplug. It succeeded in helping us do that and more. Bainbridge Island offered just then right amount of development and nature. The house is an oasis and, while I'm normally not a big "water person," I have to say that the location and views will instill tranquility into the soul of anyone who could use a little. The first morning was rainy and we spent over an house watching a bald eagle take refuge in the tree out back. It seemed that the view had so many variations - colors, hues, etc., as well as so many things to look at (ships, small boats, skyline) that you really could never be bored gazing outward. Especially from the master bedroom. I still dream of the view and want to transport that room to my house! The house overall was clean, modern, and beautiful with very nice renovations done recently. Had everything we needed and more. Wonderful also to take walks down by the water and also up to the coffee shop a mile or so away in the morning, and the ferry makes the trip into Seattle a breeze and fun. One very small recommendation is to install a flat-screen TV above the fireplace. While we barely watched TV while we were there, the little screen sitting next to the fireplace seems to be an odd fit/location. Small item. This house is about as close to perfection as you'll find. You won't be disappointed.

Better than expected!!

  • 5 of 5
We had such a lovely time! The sky was alternately clear then stormy. City lights at night. Lightening storm viewed from the bed. How romantic! Eagles, as if on cue, as I bathed. We woke up to the gentle thump of two hummingbirds at the feeder. I could not have arranged a better time. Thank you for your hospitality! The home was so clean. Well arranged and stocked.

Perfection!!

  • 5 of 5
My girlfriend and I had the opportunity to stay here for her surprise birthday getaway. We hit very good weather for the season and had fantastic views of Seattle and Mt. Rainier. We both are from Western Washington, but there is always something so soothing about this area...we have decided this will be an annual visit for us it was that amazing!!

From scheduling the trip to a wonderful note afterwards, Katherine was amazing and very helpful. The home is absolutely beautiful and you feel like it is your home when you are there, which brings even more peacefulness to the stay.
