My husband and I have our own graphic design firm in the SF bay area. We have three children ranging in age from 14 to 7.
Wendy McKinley purchased this house in 2004
The house has been in the family for years. We have been visiting several times a year since.
This is our place to get away from it all but its not so remote that there is nothing to do. We can be at great mexican food on the river in a few minutes.
We stayed in the house over the Christmas break. The house was very well equipped with everything you might need. Lots of room for all of the family. The owners were very easy to work with. I would definitely stay there again.
Had a scrapbooking retreat with a group of 7 women. What a sweet house! It is exactly 3 miles from Highway 62, but seems further out. Once you find it, it's no problem. Better than the photos! Great light, very open floor plan, so makes it very spacious to move around. Has everything (and more) you might need including great Wi-Fi. We are definitely planning on going back, would like to go when we could enjoy the outdoors. Very nice deck area! Wendy was great to work with, thanks Wendy!
My husband and I stayed here as an end to our 30th anniversary trip. We had traveled to Portland, drove down the coast, visited the Redwoods, and spent the last few days relaxing at this beautiful home on the Rogue River. The house is lovely. So clean, pretty, well decorated, and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay and rest. The location is awesome! The river lulled us to sleep each night and offered us a place to walk, sit, and talk each day. We saw deer, foxes, squirrels, and ducks. We made a side trip to Crater Lake, took a raft trip down the Rogue, and fished. I caught a large Salmon and we cooked it on the grill. (thanks to the recipes in the Big Weber Grill Cookbook!) It turned out amazing. If you are looking for a nice place to get away, enjoy each other, with superb accomodations...don't miss this rental! I wish we could go back tomorrow! The owners were so friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Every part of it was a pleasure, which only added to our own intent which was to have a wonderful ending to a wonderful trip. Mission accomplished! Thanks a million.
Had a wonderful time! This place is secluded in the woods and offers a peaceful getaway from the rat race of life. We did not want to leave. It offers everything you need and more. With so many options on VRBO, we spent a second year in a row at this location! The owners have been so easy to work with, I say....pick this place to stay, you will love it! We use VRBO a lot and will be returning for a 3rd visit if they will have us. Thank you for sharing your home and making our vacation worth the 13 hour drive! :-)
We came to Shady Cove to play golf and fly fish. We'll come back just to say in this great house. The owners were great to work with. The house is beautiful, with plenty of room and a great kitchen. Wildflowers in vases were a very nice touch. The sound of the river put us to sleep each night. Deer, turkeys, rabbits, and the neighbor's dogs visited us on the porch most mornings. Just a great place to stay.
