I am a commercial general contractor living in Denver, Colorado. I now have the best of all worlds with a permanent home in beautiful, colorful Colorado and vacation home in the heart of the Sonoma wine country.
My son also reside in the Sonoma Valley and works in the town of St. Helena in the Napa Valley as a Director of Projects for capital improvements in the Constellation winery division. Prior to this position he spent three years as an assistant wine maker.
Barry Graves purchased this house in 2008
When I arrive at this Windsor, California home, a smile immediately appears on my face as I drive up Golf Course Drive and see the beautiful golf course that lies across the street from my destination. This course offers both challenging golf and incredible natural beauty with unique vegitation and wildlife.
Also situated adjacent to the golf course is a renowned restaurant called Charlie's that offers great food and an impressive wine list. Great opportunity to enjoy an nice meal and bottle of wine and take the 5 minute walk to the house along the golf course.
The two most impressive wine regions in the Sonoma Valley are only 5 minutes away. The Russian River Valley is only 5 minutes to the south and the Dry Creek region is only 5 minutes to the north.
If shopping in specialty shops that typify the region is your game, Healdsburg is only 5 minutes to the north and you will find many cute shops on the Square.
Me and some of my girlfriends stayed here over the weekend and had a lovely time! The house is right across from a golf course in a very nice area. We loved this house. The pool and spa were wonderful. We had a great time and are looking forward to staying here next year on our annual girls weekend!
We had a wonderful time in this spacious four-bedroom home with our daughters and their families. The backyard oasis was the best thing about the home…warm pool and spa, built-in barbecue, fruit trees, and plenty of seating. The living areas inside were plentiful and the huge master bedroom had room for two large mattresses on the floor for our younger grandchildren. The kitchen was stocked with spices, coffee and coffee filters, utensils, and dishes. Our sons-in-law enjoyed golfing at the course across the street, and we stayed in the Sonoma/Healdsburg area to wine taste, rent a pontoon boat on Lake Sonoma, and explore the town of Windsor.
My husband and I rented Barry's home for 2 months. The house space is open yet has a cozy feel. Noteworthy were: very comfortable beds, ample sheets, towels and linens, stocked kitchen tools and outdoor grill. The pool/spa are exceptional as is the large and private backyard. Barry was attentive to any house issues we had, and repair work was almost immediate. We enjoyed playing golf across the street at the Windsor Golf Club. The restaurants in Windsor are quite good especially Asian cuisine. The house is perfectly located for exploring the Dry Creek, Russian and Anderson Valley vineyards. We look forward to returning very soon.
Where do I start?? First, dealing with Barry was easy and communication was great from the start. Everything from making the deposit, to the staggered payments, all the way to the detailed instructions, fell into place. We flew in from Austin, TX for a cycling event, which we made into a weeklong excursion. From the moment we drove up, we knew it was going to be a great week. The house has everything you could possibly need. From TV’s, appliances, to dish ware, the house was fully stocked and comfortable. The linens were fresh, bedding was clean, and overall we could not ask for a better place to call home for the week. The BBQ and spa were used nightly after hundreds of miles and many hours in the saddle. I cannot stress how relaxing and great this place is. When you travel, you always want to get away and not have to worry about your accommodations. This is one of those places where you can just relax, chill, and worry about what you are going to do next. Thanks to Barry and his family for letting us stay at your beautiful home. We look forward to coming back and having even a better time in Windsor than we did this year.
This house at first glance was very appealing. It is spacious, and the backyard is gorgeous. However, once we all celebrated the superficial appearance of this house, we saw a lot of issues.
The bathrooms were DEFINITELY not cleaned. There was hair in the shower. The floors in the bathroom were filthy. The hot tub never got up to the ideal temperature. There was food left in the disposal. There was dust on the shelves and staircase. The kitchen was not properly stocked. After finding the hair in the shower, we were worried that the bedsheets may not have been changed. Sure enough, when we pulled back the comforter, we saw a couple pieces of hair on top of the sheets. I'm not sure who cleans the house and how often, but with the amount that is charged per night, in my opinion, it should be PROFESSIONALLY cleaned after each stay.
This home is very nice and spacious. It faces the golf course and is quiet. It is furnished nicely with enough items in kitchen to cook even though we did not. The backyard is beautiful as well. It is close to downtown Windsor and of course many wineries. We were there for our son's wedding so we did not utilize the pool! Barry was very easy and great to work with! We hope to rent it again!
My home is located across the street from one of the best public golf courses in the Sonoma Wine Country. We are only 10 minutes from either the Dry Creek or the Russian River wine districts. You can be in downtown Healdsberg or Santa Rosa in 10 minutes. Beautiful bicycling roads throughout the area. You can be on the beach at Jenner within 40 minutes and 60 minutes to historic Bodega Bay.
The drive from the Oakland International Airport is made within 45 minutes. Napa Valley is only 45 minutes to the east. This is an ideal opportunity for wine lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Across the road from 18th green on the Windsor Golf Course.
