Congratulations! You have just found the place to answer your needs to get away from winter's woes. My wife and I rented from Judy and Mike Bessette for three months (Jan-Mar) and truly loved their townhouse. It is completely furnished and I mean completely. Everything is new also which is a very big plus.. Dishes, BBQ, bedding, TV, cable, telephone, water, garbage service, etc.
If you enjoy sunrises and sunsets, you will be in heaven at this rental. The sun rises that spring up over the Santa Rita Mountains viewed from your patio are breath taking. The evening sunsets are just as awesome or maybe even more impressive when they happen almost nightly. The townhouse is just a very short walk from the swimming pool, weight room, and other happenings in the center. The Springs has a nice easy mile walking park that can be enjoyed right out the door from the townhouse. You can also join hiking clubs, camera clubs, wood working clubs, card playing clubs, or just about anything you have an interest in as Green Valley is FULL of active people!
Once away from the townhouse located in The Springs there is a multitude of things to see, do,and enjoy. As mentioned earlier, the Santa Rita Mountains offer great hiking and bird watching and are easily driven to in 20 minutes. There is a Farmer's Market just a short drive (5 minutes) away every Wednesday which has everything from fresh vegetables to all sorts of Mexican art. You can even buy a giant saguaro to take home!. Tubac, a very neat artist community, is about a 20 minute drive to the south. If that isn't enough Tucson is 20 miles to the north. All places I have mentioned have very good roads to and from them. There are at least three great grocery/shopping areas close (Safeway, Fry's and Walmart). There are way too many dining places to list and just about all of them are super. One of our favorites is Maria's in Tubac.
Oh yea least I forget. If you are a golfer you will find a different course about every couple miles or so throughout Green Valley. All are great and most have excellent dining also. We enjoyed the Bessette's wonderful place so much we purchased a home here ourselves so that is the only reason we are not back renting theirs. I promise you will not be disappointed in the townhouse or area should you decide to come.
