Brigadoon - A Shelter + Roost Property: You cannot pay to sleep any closer to the heart of Leiper's Fork Village. Imagine if Ralph Lauren had a yard sale and you will capture something of the essence of this dreamy place.
Brigadoon is beautiful. It is a quirky, post Civil War home that has succumbed to a slight British invasion. Two distinct living rooms and sun/dining room combination give the home its identity. A queen bedroom on the main level offers a traditional sleeping experience; upstairs a queen bedroom suite has a loft feel to it. Single bed, daybed and optional inflatable queen bed will allow for additional places to rest the head. The kitchen, aka 'the coop,' has enough utensils to cook if you so desire. You can also wash up in a wonderful walk-in shower or soaker tub.
Brigadoon is located in the village of Leiper's Fork; in other words, a two minute walk will leave you with three restaurant choices and several unique shops in which to browse. You cannot pay to sleep any closer to the heart of the village. The village folk are amazing. Moreover, you are only 8 miles from one of the best main streets in the South, Franklin and 29 miles from downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Brigadoon was featured on the Heritage Foundation Tour of Homes in 2012 in which it was also awarded for preservation of a pre-1900 structure. Additionally, it will be play a central role in an upcoming documentary on the childhood life of Walt Disney.
If you enjoy the eclectic, sophisticated and whimsical then you will thoroughly enjoy this stunning cottage in Leiper's Fork Village.

We stumbled upon Leipers Fork by pure chance in the spring of 2011. We knew right then and there that we wanted to make this special place a part of our lives. Family is extremely important to us and we get such joy watching our sons Wyatt and Scotch enjoy the people and community as much as we do. We own four vacation rentals in the area want you to enjoy your stay with us. If there is anything that we can do to enhance your experience during your stay, please let us know
We bought this house because we fell in love with Leiper's Fork and Franklin, TN. Only 29 miles from downtown Nashville this house gave us the best of both worlds - town and country!
If you love the eclectic in a small community setting with easy access to all the bustle of Nashville and Franklin then this location would be perfect for you.
Two sets of sisters gathered at Brigadoon in the heart of Leiper's Fork for a birthday celebration. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway. We fell in love with the decor! Everywhere you turned, there was something interesting and unique to admire. The home was immaculate, and incredibly comfortable. (I happened to sleep on the day bed and it was super cozy). There were plenty of towels, bedding, and comfy pillows. If we had wanted to cook, the home was furnished with just about anything a person would need, including spices. We loved being able to stroll down the street for breakfast at Puckett's Grocery. Our last evening was spent sitting on the back deck enjoying a glass or two of wine/beer, and taking in the beautiful country landscape. I look forward to my next visit to Leiper's Fork...next time I'm bringing the hubby!
The home was perfect and immaculate. The location was wonderful. Small town feel with easy access to either Nashville or the Natchez Trace.
Super neat home, loved the eclectic decor. The Brigadoon had all the necessities, everything you need to cook a basic meal, lots of extra bedding, plenty of towels, etc. I loved that there were basic spices and olive oil, I always hate buying a whole jar of something to cook just a couple meals. The home is clean and oh so charming, but it is an old house. Depending on who you are traveling with the layout of the bedrooms does require you to walk through one to get to the other. Only negative for me personally was two people could not take a shower in a row without running out of hot water. I was pleasantly surprised by how warm the house stayed with it being super chilly out. Overall enjoyed our long weekend in Leiper's Fork! Thank You!!
My husband and I had a fabulous getaway in Leiper's Fork! We loved the Brigadoon. It was a stones throw to Puckett's and the new restaurant, Fly South (a must-try with an awesome chef and great wait staff!) The home itself was full of fun... Lots to look at. Plenty of towels, bedding, dishes, etc. If we would have had kids in tow, it would have been nice to have a shower upstairs; but with just the two of us, it was perfect. Thanks for a great stay!!
After all of the great reviews of this property, we were less than impressed overall. The house itself is quite charming to explore - on this point we agree with previous raters. Unfortunately, it lacked a number of comforts we are used to having in rental properties. While unpacking we discovered there were NO hangers in the house - none. In fact, the closets did not even contain rods for hanging clothes, they were used for storage of linens, cots, etc. Off to find a dollar store. There was NO dishwasher detergent, so we thought we would just wash the dishes by hand; however, there was only a dribble of dishwashing liquid in the bottle and there were NO dishtowels of any kind with which to dry dishes. Dollar store. The water/ice maker on the fridge did not work. In fairness, I informed the owner of this and she offered to have someone come out, but we decided to make do rather than deal with maintenance on our vacation. Kleenex would also have been nice, as even the most basic hotel room includes this and Fall is allergy season. There were no window coverings of any kind on the back door, front room door or kitchen window. This is rather disconcerting, especially in the evening. Air conditioner upstairs did not work particularly well and fan squealed terribly, so I took the small fan from downstairs to the upstairs bedroom so I could sleep comfortably. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes & pans, but no cupboard space was left for storing groceries and you will find no spices except salt & pepper - again, very different from most rentals we've had. While it was nice to have 2 bathrooms, the shower downstairs is so narrow it is difficult to shower and wash your hair without knocking your elbows on the walls, plus there is not shelf of any kind on which to lay soap or put shampoo bottle, and the claw foot tub upstairs is quaint, but positioned under the slanted roof so that you cannot really stand up in the tub to get out. Outside furniture and deck were also very dirty & not inviting. I realize that all of these things may seem minor, but it seemed as if every time we turned around there was another inconvenience, that eventually made us more than ready to leave. Ironically, the hotel room we stayed in on the trip home had more comforts available than did the house. Also not impressed with Leiper's Fork. Shops are VERY expensive and Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant was just nasty. Our advice: Skip Leiper's Fork and stay in Franklin!
What an incredible home with a great location. We enjoyed a 10 day stay in this home and it exceeded all expectations. The location was perfect. From the charming and friendly village, close to Franklin and less than 30 minutes to down town Nashville. The home was very clean and comfortable. We cooked multiple times in the well equipped kitchen. The best part was the deck and front porch where we really enjoyed the view and company. Highly recommend this spot. Thank you for a great vacation!!
