Private end unit with huge patio overlooking 9th hole of Oak Marsh golf course at Amelia Island Plantation, with marshes and intracoastal waterway in the distance. Large lawn out back spills over onto the fairway - perfect for early evening strolls with a glass of wine or watching the grandchildren play tag.

The Plantation has the feel of a low-country, exquisitely beautiful time capsule, taking families back to an era when kids rode bicycles after supper, returning home when it got dark and when parents taught their children to play golf in the early evening -when no one else was on the course.

Our condo is a tranquil, lovingly-restored town home nestled under a canopy of live oaks facing southward to Marsh Creek and the intracoastal beyond.

One of our favorite activities is to ride our bikes around the bike trails and golf paths. Bikes are available for rent within walking distance of the condo at Amelia's Wheels.

You have a beautiful place, lovely decor and a perfect and quiet location.



My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved every day we were there. It was very nice and loved the updated bathrooms, kitchen and floors. The location was ideal for us, since the guys in my family played golf almost everyday and we love to ride bikes all over the island, so the bikes were very much a plus. We all enjoyed the nice flatscreen for all the football games that were on around Christmas :)

Location. Location. Location. The view is one of the best on the island. The owner of the OMNI hotel corporation has been quoted as saying that the view over the marsh from the west side of the property is 'why i bought this resort'.

The pool is 50 steps from our front door. The driving range is a 5 minute walk. The Marshview Bar and Grill is a 5 minute walk. Ten minutes from our front door lie all the shops and restaurants.

MARVELOUS SUNSETS!

I just can't resist pointing out another thing to supplement my review posted a month ago:

When I first viewed this website listing last fall, for some reason I assumed that the photo of the sun setting behind the palm tree was a generic Florida photo - and not actually the view from this home. (I don't believe that there was a caption with the photo when I first viewed it, as there is now.).

Now, having had the pleasure many evenings of seeing that very sight, I can assure you that this IS the real view from the patio. It's spectacular!

Further, my wife and I just met Diane for the first time. And she couldn't have been more gracious or attentive. We feel very lucky to have made such a wonderful connection.

WE LOVE DIANE'S HOME!

We LOVE Diane's home!

First of all, Diane has done a beautiful job with this property. Not only do we think it is beautiful, but we recently hosted some neighbors from nearby units (of similar style) for cocktails and several seemed very impressed with the renovations that Diane had completed. It is bright and clean and airy. I particularly like the spacious kitchen, with loads of counter space, lots and lots of cabinets and all new appliances. And with the vaulted ceiling in the living room providing an open and spacious feeling, at the same time it is a very warm and cozy room. The bedrooms are all very nice and the bathrooms, newly done, are all very clean and modern. Diane has furnished the unit very handsomely and she provides everything one might need for the kitchen, baths and bedrooms. All of the electronics are brand new with state-of-the-art connections. I've even arranged to be able to watch my beloved Boston Bruins play hockey while I'm here. And setting up my business in the spare bedroom was a breeze.

The setting is just glorious. Fronting on the 9th fairway of the Oak Marsh golf course with a panoramic view of the Oak Marsh directly in front of the home, you couldn't find a nicer place from which to enjoy the marsh wildlife and the setting sun, all from the comfort of the terrace.

We've only been here about 10 days. And having rented here on Amelia Island before, we have a basis for comparison. In a nutshell, we are so pleased to have connected with Diane, who has made our stay here truly wonderful with her attention to detail and her commitment to ensuring a terrific rental experience. If you are looking for a beautiful home with all the amenities in a picturesque setting, all within range of shopping, dining, recreation and entertainment and with a caring and responsive owner, you can't go wrong. We certainly hope to be here again next year. Thanks, Diane!

Just off the patio is a huge expanse of lawn and fairway facing southwest across to the back nine of Oak Marsh and the protected wetlands and marshes in between. Off in the distance is the intracoastal and the lights of Jacksonville. In the early evening, when the golfers are done for the day, homeowners, their dogs and kids come out to play.

It feels magical - there's no other way to describe the sense of tranquility shared and observed. Oftentimes, we watch menancing clouds and thunderstorms sweep southeast of us, never landing a blow. We share the sunset with the egrets and listen to the twilight descend.

It is truly magical.
