Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 4)

Private and tranquil two story beachfront townhouse (end-unit) situated directly on the white sand beach and turquoise blue waters of Great Bay, in a quiet area of Phillipsburg, the Dutch capital of St. Maarten. Lovingly and tastefully renovated and redecorated by the owners in Fall 2011.

This is a small, intimate and friendly gated complex comprised of only 12 individual villas with on-site management, an infinity pool overlooking the beach, and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. There are several lounge areas for you to choose from every day, including right beside the pool, in the shady breeze way, or directly on the gorgeous beach.

Make yourself at home in this unit (Villa #1) which has a brand new fully-equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher. On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms, one oceanfront with a private terrace, and a newly renovated full-sized 'spa' bathroom with a large, luxurious glass block shower.

On the main floor is the spacious living room, kitchen, dining area and a powder room. The unit is fully air-conditioned for your comfort.

You have your own private lanai shaded by palm trees where you can enjoy meals and cocktails while watching the beautiful cruise ships come and go without experiencing the crowds (a favourite past-time of all visitors who visit our complex)!

Our on-site management team are our amazing ambassadors who will happily provide you with any assistance and information you may need to make your stay more enjoyable.

The complex is isolated from the hustle and bustle of Phillipsburg, but is located a mere 5 minute stroll away. So.....you can decide to spend a quiet day by the pool or on the beach or walk into Philipsburg and enjoy the myriad of shops, restaurants and casinos that it offers, or do a little of both! It is not necessary to rent a car in order to make the most of your vacation here as there are do many amenities and activities within close proximity. There is also a local bus service nearby that is an affordable and convenient way to get around. If you do choose to rent a car, navigating the 37 square miles of the island is a piece of cake. Including Great Bay Beach, there are 37 beaches on the island (1 beach for every square mile!) and they are all within a short driving distance.

My husband and I took our college age son to this condo for spring break. It is a good location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants which are just down the beach. Each morning different cruise ships are docked in the bay. The tourists flood town and the boardwalk (think groups on Segways up and down the beach). When the cruise ships leave many of the businesses close. The locals come to teach their children to ride bikes in the evening. The villa is well appointed and decorated with a beach theme. The condo would be good for two couples since there are two bedrooms with 1 bed apiece. It is a small condo development so the neighbors are very friendly. On site management is a couple who provided great information and were very helpful in general. The only negative was a fair amount of street noise (motorcycles, dogs).

Regarding the noise from vehicles and dogs, we are EXTREMELY happy to report that, just last weekend, as a result of initiatives taken by us (the Villas on Great Bay), the local government took very effective measures to eliminate these annoyances. It is now once again very peaceful and serene here. There is now absolutely NO traffic allowed on the beach, except segways, so the dogs have nothing to chase or bark at anymore! Please come back and enjoy our little piece of paradise soon!

Fantastic Vacation - Great Property

We can't speak highly enough regarding the location, condition of the villa and the warm and welcoming individuals we met while there. The property managers, Jim and Gina, were great and extremely helpful in making suggestions of things to do and places to go. The villa itself was beautifully decorated and recently renovated. The upstairs bathroom was so well done that our sister and brother-in-law took pictures for a renovation they are working on! The location was great as well - easy walk to shops and dining and right on the beach. We spent every afternoon by the pool or in the bay and I can't wait to come back!

We Love This Villa!

We returned to the Villas again this year and stayed in Villa1 with another couple Feb 9-16. Two other couples stayed next-door. All I can say is that we loved this Villa and had a wonderful week. The Villa was very nicely furnished, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. We didn't "want" for anything. The owners and managers take pride in their facility and it shows. The recent renovations of the exterior are very nice and I especially enjoyed the new beach loungers. The pictures posted here accurately describe the Villa and if anything they don't do justice for the beauty of this Villa and the location on the island. Managers, Jim and Gina, were very helpful. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shopping and always felt safe on the island and at the Villa. We definitely recommend this Villa to others and hope to return again someday. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable vacation!
