On the top of Davis Mountain west of Hendersonville, NC, in the Laurel Park area off of Hwy 64. The view! The quiet solitude and a colony of abino squirrels, ands surrounding woods in every direction! The mountain breeze! ...did I mention the view and the abino squirrels?
Our natural stone working fireplace on the rustic tile 20'x25' screened porch provides twenty mile overlooks toward the Laurel Park valley and Asheville and beyond. Hendersonville is 10 min., away at the foot of the mountain, Asheville is to the north, Brevard is 16 minutes west, and historical Flat Rock (with the NC theatre) is 12 minutes south; each area unique with all of their restaurants, antiques, wineries, farmers markets, museums, library, apple farms, theatre, historic sites. Pisgah National Forest is a short 15 minutes west.
Your only problem will be leaving. And you will not want to come back down the mountain once you arrive; so, get your groceries at Ingles in Laurel Park before you come up.. Your only other problem will be attempting to remove family members from one of the six wooden swings on the one and half acre property in order to eat, sleep, or travel. But you can always come back anytime you want.
Last year we planted our muscadine orchard, continued planting our 'Frazier Family Frasier Fir Tree Farm' and installed a stone entrance; and you are in the middle of it all. In fact, you are welcome to tag one of the Christmas trees and come back for it in two or three years or your Christmas.
We have continued the orginal owner's tradition of calling our home, 'Heaven's Door Step'. You feel suspended between heaven and earth. The rising sun will greet you over the east ridge each morning and put you to sleep each night as it sets over the west ridge and you can watch all 180 degrees of it.
You will see more walkers, joggers, and dog walkers on the Brightwater Road than cars. Some folks just stand and watch the spectacular views and changing sun sets. In the winter, Turley Falls is visible along the road.
Well, that is about it. It would be a plum pleasing pleasure to personally answer any questions or concerns. Just give us a call; 1-803-517-9815, any time.
We truly dnjoy 'Heaven's Door Step' and think you will too.
Sincerely,
Dennis and Carol Frazier
