Villa 277 is in Villas by the Sea resort in beautiful Jekyll Island, Georgia.The master bedroom has views of the Atlantic framed through stately live oak trees. The unit is on the second and third floors, an end unit in the Hadley Building. There are two bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs. Furnishings are comfortable and updated. The unit was purchased by its current owner in 2007. It had already been renovated, but since that time, it has been completely refreshed, including replacement of upstairs flooring (no carpet except on the stairs),new dining furniture, fresh paint, and other updates and improvements. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy, before heading out to explore the Island's historic district, Turtle Center, golf courses and tennis courts, 22 miles of walking and biking paths, and side trips to Saint Simon's Island, Brunswick, Saint Mary's, and beyond.

Jekyll Island has wonderful activities and it is not just a beach vacation. It is located about halfway between Savannah and Jacksonville with easy access from I-95. The historic district is a favorite destination, where you can see the 'cottages' of the rich and famous who called Jekyll their winter retreat. You can bike or walk on more than 20 miles of walking and biking paths. Golf and tennis enthusiasts find plenty to do on the courts and courses on the Island.

Currently, Jekyll is completing the work on some major upgrades to older infrastructure. The old convention center has been replaced by a beautiful new convention space that opened in May 2012. The new park areas around it are beautiful! Other upgrades and improvements are also taking place, but the improvements are in keeping with the charm and environmental requirements of an island that must remain only 35% developed.

Even in the middle of summer, Jekyll is a low-key, special place to be at the ocean. Brunswick and Saint Simon's Island are a short ride away, and both have their own special activities to offer.

Once you come to Jekyll Island, you will want to come again!

Awesome Villa on Jekyll Island

My wife and I stayed with some friends at Villas by the Sea in Villa 277 just after Thanksgiving. Although we were on vacation, it truly felt like being home, the Villa was uniquely decorated, very clean, comfortable and had some nice upgrades. There was plenty of room for the four of us. We enjoyed a home cooked meal and enjoyed the nice view from the family room. It's also very nice out on the balcony off the main bedroom. This was our first trip to Jekyll Island and we really enjoyed hiking around and exploring the historic town on the island. Driftwood Beach is just a short five minute walk from the Villa as well as a nice gazebo and boardwalk. You can see the St. Simons Lighthouse from the beach area. It was too cold to enjoy the large pool on this trip, but we'll try it out on another trip during the summer. There was plenty of parking available right next to this awesome end unit. We both would book this particular unit again! You will enjoy staying in this Villa as well and will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

I stayed here in January and the place was very nice! Sadly I just looked at the calendar and saw that it's already rented during the time I wanted to go to Jekyll again. I've stayed at a number of other places on Jeykll previously but none were as nice as this one and I really wanted to stay here again. The place is clean and neat and very comfortable. It felt like we were staying at a friends' home. We didn't need all the TVs, we were at the beach after all, but I'm sure some would like a TV in every room. We did appreciate the wifi
I like it's proximity to Driftwood Beach, about 5 min walk. Great for sunrise pics and at low tide you can walk for miles.
If you're lucky enough to stay here or anywhere on Jekyll be sure to eat at Barbara Jean's on St. Simon's Island. Fantastic crab cakes and chocolate stuff!

I love this place!

I try to visit Jekyll Island several times each year, and I always stay in this villa. This particular unit is well maintained and well appointed. It's comfortable and relaxing with a nice view of the live oaks and the ocean just beyond. I like the Villas by the Sea (where this unit is located) because of the natural setting and proximity to Driftwood Beach and the marshes. I love the gazebo and boardwalk at the Villas; it is a perfect spot for viewing the sunrise or enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. This place is like a home away from home for me. If you book it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
