Located at North Pole Resorts, a camping resort on the Ausable River. This property is a beautiful log home with a large sloping lawn that ends on the banks of the river. The Ausable is one of the nation's premiere trout streams, which features a trophy catch-and-release section. The river is heavily stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Renting the log home includes access to all of the camping resort's many facilities, including 2 outdoor pools, hiking and biking trails, and boat rentals (rowboats, canoes and kayaks). Located just 2 miles from the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, which is used for mountain biking, hiking and disc golf in the summer. You can also take a ride on the Cloud Splitter gondola in the winter and summer, which offers fantastic views of the area. During the summer you can take in some music at the nearby town beach, just a short walk away. Close by in Lake Placid, just 10 miles down the road on Route 86, you will find shops, restaurants, the Olympic facilities, and several golf courses.

The North Pole Log Home is the only 4-bedroom riverfront rental house in the Whiteface Region with access to a variety of resort amenities and activities, many of which are included in the rental cost (such as free use of playgrounds, outdoor pools, fishing area, wagon rides, and horse shoes).

Our beautiful log home offers a large deck with gas grill, lounge chairs, and a finely manicured lawn that slopes down to the Ausable river, where you are able to fish for rainbow and brown trout from the shore or take one of the resort's rowboats or canoes to try your luck in different locations on the river. Just a few miles away is a trophy catch-and-release fishing area that has many prize size trout for the clever fisherman who can out smart these lunkers. If you are looking for other fishing, Lake Placid offers some good sized lake trout and Lake Champlain is just a 30 minute drive and offers a wide variety of fish. For the downhill skier, Whiteface Mt. with the greatest vertical drop in the east offers trails from beginner through expert, with rentals and instruction available for all levels. If you are into x-country skiing there are miles of groomed and ungroomed trails in the area which offer opportunities for all abilities. Ten miles from Wilmington, Lake Placid offers shopping, fine restaurants, museums, live theater, movies, olympic facilities, as well as a wide range of sports activities, both for the spectator and the active participant. If you just want to relax, what better way than to take your favorite book and relax in a chair on the lawn overlooking the river and get lost in the serenity of the Adirondacks. Or maybe you would like to take a stroll on one of our many wooded trails, or enjoy a dip in one of our two pools.
