Comfy and convenient in a good neighborhood. We didn't have to lock the car!
Well thought out guest apartment. Your thoughtfulness in anticipating our needs and use was like an unseen servant. Thank you.
We came into Chicago for a fun weekend. This apartment was the perfect place. It's within 2 blocks of the Brown Line, and within walking distance to plenty of shopping & restaurants. That apartment was as advertised and had some old Chicago charm. Definitely worth the stay.
This apartment in Lincoln Square is nicely appointed and well maintained. The public areas (living, dining) are nicely furnished and provide a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal and conversation -- the kitchen is well equipped for preparing that stay-in meal. The bedrooms are small but have nice closet space and we slept comfortably.
The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood just east of Lincoln Ave and Western Ave along which numerous shops and restaurants of every cuisine are located. A large public park with a great playground is located a few blocks south. It is a quick walk to the L and about a 20 minute ride to the Loop.
Carl met us to introduce himself, give a quick tour (he does have a guide book in the apartment) and let us know that he is available if there comes a need. Most importantly, he is proud of the nice apartments that he has available and is an excellent host.
This is a clean, comfortable, well-furnished apartment in a delightful tree-shaded neighborhood. The apartment is less than 5 minutes from CTA's "brown" elevated train line, and less than 3 minutes from the North Lincoln Avenue shops and restaurants.
The neighborhood is such that there are people out pushing their little kids in prams, or walking their dogs, at all hours of the day and evening. Many of the front porches of houses are decked out (some quite imaginatively) for halloween. There is a high level of owner-occupancy in the neighborhood, and Carl, our landlord, was smart to take on this nice, small 4-5 unit, apartment building for vacation rentals. It is also a remarkably silent neighborhood. There is not a great deal of car traffic (many people like to walk, and they take the train into center city) and noise.
We had everything we needed. I texted Carl from the train and he was there to meet me. He gave me a nice welcome, and was also helpful in finding good things for me and my daughter to do (Swan Lake ballet) while we were around. He checked up on us during our stay. He is justly proud of his work with his apartments and wants his guests to be happy.
I have already told my family about this apartment and would happily stay here again. It's nice to find a place where there are so many nice shops and restaurants, where one doesn't need a car, and where one can be so comfortable in a big city.
We found the apartment to be excellent. It was spacious, clean and in a very nice area. The apartment catered well for our needs and Carl was a friendly and helpful owner. He accommodated some fairly last minute changes (our daughter ended up staying with us) without any fuss and indeed, without extra cost which was unexpected and appreciated.
We would happily recommend this accommodation to others
We made excellent use of the local restaurants, used the Loop system extensively, visited the Willis Tower, the zoo, the Planetarium, took the architecture boat ride and visited the many lovely gardens. We had a lovely time and were greatly impressed by Chicago.
Lincoln Square is a lovely city-within-a-city, rich in culture, restaurants, bars, shops and activities. The neighborhood's heritage speaks of its Old World roots. Encircling the area is the Old Town School of Folk Music famous for music instruction and live performances, a library, a 15 acre park, movie theaters, coffee houses, the city's oldest bowling lanes, fitness clubs, unique shops, day spas, specialty grocers and more! Close to trains, bus stops, Lake Michigan and all of Chicago's attractions and activities.
