Rincon is a coastal town in the West Coast of Puerto Rico about 18 miles from the Rafael Hernandez International Airport (BQN) in Aguadilla. It's known worldwide for big waves on the north side of town for surfing and for its 8 miles long seashore of clear, blue, swimming waters on the south side of town. Rincon is also known for whale watching, beautiful sunsets and great variety of restaurants.
While at Rincon you can engage in practically all kinds of water sports such as surfing, Water skiing, deep sea fishing, Banana Boat rides, Kayaking, Jet-Skis and Stand-up Paddle Boards. You can Snorkel or Scuba dive nearby Desecheo an inlet with a museum type of marine life, beautiful corals, a large variety of colorful tropical fish, turtles, lobsters and sometimes dolphins.
Other activities include golfing at Punta Borinquen Golf Club, a public golf course located at the top of the north-west corner of the island, where the Atlantic ocean meet the Caribbean Sea with spectacular sea views. Las Cascadas, a water park in Aguadilla usually open early spring to late fall. La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay, the luminescent effect in the bay is the result of a permanent population of tiny micro-organisms called Dinoflagellates. These animals produce a chemical spark of light when disturbed in the water. They can produce striking effects of green and white sparkles that can only be seen at night. The Aguadilla Ice skating Arena. The Aguadilla Bowling Center. The Mayaguez Zoo, the largest zoo in Puerto Rico with more than 350 species of birds, mammals and reptiles on display.
Also nearby Rincon you can find Casinos, at the Mayaguez Resort and Casino and the Marriott Courtyard Casino in Aguadilla. Shopping Malls including the Mayaguez Mall with stores like JC Penneys, Sears, Marshall and Wall Mart. Western Plaza Mall, with Sams Club, Big K, Home Depot and many small outlet type stores and the Aguadilla Mall. Movie theaters at Caribbean Cinemas at the Western Plaza mall and the Aguadilla Movie theaters located at the Aguadilla Shopping Mall. All of these located within 30 minutes or less from Rincon.
