BEAUTIFUL, MODERN, LUXURIOUS WATERFRONT, SPECTACULAR VIEWS FROM EVERY ROOM

We (a group of five adults) recently visited Bermuda for a friend's Memorial Day wedding and were initially looking for a way to defray expenses. It was my first experience on HomeAway and everything about the stay with Chris was fantastic. The condo is beautiful and the pictures don't do the views justice. Chris picked us up from the airport, stopped at a market so we could get groceries, provided us a cell phone so we could reach him and hooked us up with activities immediately. We paddleboarded at sunrise with Chris the morning after we arrived and he set us up with surfing lessons with one of his contacts on another day. It would be a mistake not to ask him for restaurant recommendations because he's got really good taste and can keep you away from the more touristy spots. Chris is a consummate professional but isn't super intense and his attitude is perfect for helping his guests find a leisurely good time. The entire stay---5 nights---cost less than half as much per person than coming for the weekend to the wedding would have cost. I would absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend this property to any and all comers.

It had been 38 years since my wife and I spent our honeymoon in Bermuda and were apprehensive that coming back would not meet our expectations. After significant research on condos in Bermuda, we selected Chris's condo and could not have made a better selection.

Talk about a full service host, Chris met up at the airport, stopped for groceries on the way to the condo, found us enough Wahoo for breakfast lunch and dinner, gave us hints for activities, meals, a guided tour of the island and return trip to the airport.

The pictures of the condo might look like professionally touched up views, but reality is even more spectacular. The biggest decision was which view to take in each day from our elevated perch. It's even beautify in the rain.

Sommerset is on the west end of Bermuda, away from the activity of the city, which is great for relaxing, but a short ferry ride into Hamilton. Take the close by bus for local flavor and the ferry for quickness.

The condo was even stocked with numerous condiments for the cook-at-home meals. If you draw straws for the best bedroom, try for the gorgeous view from the master, overlooking the bay.

Bottom line, it was perfect and don't put it off and don't spend months trying to figure out which condo to stay it. This is it.

This was our first time in Bermuda, a great destination for a “grown” family vacation (son 25 and daughter 20). We had a wonderful 5 days there. We especially credit Chris and his amazing condo. Chris met us at the airport at 10:30pm with supplies for breakfast. We were happy to have him navigate the roads, especially driving on the left! The views from the condo are spectacular, both day and night. Every room has an ocean view. The master bedroom, with ensuite bath and veranda with hammock, comfy chairs, and wrap-around view, really stands out. The condo is stylish and well equipped with washer, dryer, Internet, cable, etc. Everything was clean and ready for use, and the kitchen included basic condiments and supplies.
Chris took us grocery shopping the first morning. We mentioned we would like to buy some fish, so Chris called up a friend to find out what he had caught that day. We cooked fresh bonita steaks that evening on the gas grill on the back porch! Chris went out of his way to show us around, tell us about life in Bermuda, and make suggestions based on our interests. He made extra trips to the airport for our son who traveled separately.
The condo is conveniently located on the bus route, a few stops from the Dockyards. To get around, we bought combined bus/ferry passes, $15 for the first day, but only $10 more for each extra day. The buses run quite often. The Dockyard ferry to St. George only operates on weekdays, but is worth the trip.
We enjoyed visiting Fort Catherine near St. George, and the Beachside restaurant next door served a great lunch overlooking the water. Body-surfing at Horseshoe Bay was a favorite. We visited several nature reserves on the island, including one near the condo. There were some excellent artist collectives at the Dockyard- in addition to the usual tourist shops. Although groceries were expensive, the quality and prices at the restaurants were reasonable. The D&C Grill & More Lunch Wagon that Chris took us to for lunch one day was also a treat!
The condo is at the top of a fairly steep hill. We enjoyed the short hike up, but some people might want to use taxis. The condo was generally quiet, though the sounds of tree frogs, morning ferries, and occasional music were pleasant additions. We did encounter a few mosquitos there.
All in all this was a wonderful vacation, greatly helped by Chris and his accommodations. We’ve recommended it to our friends and relatives and plan to return when we get a chance. Enjoy!
