I built these vacation homes on our historic 13 acre homestead to provide a one-of-a-kind lodging option for the many travelers to this area.
“We were all very fortunate to stay in your beautiful guest house. It’s a home-away-from-home. Lots of laughs and wonderful memories with great friends! We had a blast snowboarding and a couple girls got massages! We all have established there will be another visit in the future. Thanks for everything and the warm hospitality”
We just spent 5 RELAXING days at "The Barn". Wish we could have stayed longer! We were looking for a place to just relax and do what we wanted to when we wanted to and this was perfect. I loved the kitchen and the dining room table in the silo, along with all the little extras. We both grew up on farms and were farmers the first couple years we were married so along with the barn and silo and several of the signs in the "barn", we felt this was the perfect place. Next time we hope to walk down to the river and have a bonfire or 2! Yes, we will definitely go back! No need to travel to Montana or South Dakota anymore to find the "perfect getaway"!
Absolutely loved our stay in the Barn! Well appointed for our group of 4 amateur chefs. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen and found it to have all we needed. (Well, could maybe use some additional glassware but that's it!) Dining in the silo nook was such a treat. To be in the round allowed easy conversation and a pretty view of the snowy landscape.
We snowshoed right from out the front door on a bluebird day and enjoyed a bonfire each night.
Of course, we were all in love with little details like the motion sensitive stair lights and the eco-mechanicals. Great location, beautiful space. Would stay again and again!
This was the perfect "girls" weekend getaway for 2 moms and 3 teen daughters. The weekend was bitterly cold, but the barn proved to be the perfect space to nest and stay warm. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen, movies, and games in the silo table space. The barn was clean and very comfortable for sleeping and lounging. We plan to make this an annual event!
I went up to Green Gate Guest House with about 10 other women for a girl's weekend. We rented both the barn and the farm house. I have one word for our weekend at Green Gate - perfect! The barn and farmhouse are both so cozy and rustically luxurious. From the little details like organic hand towels, chocolate treats, a fully stocked kitchen (including spices!) and drinking glasses made from bottles, to big details like the clawfoot tub in the silo bathroom, bricks from the original barn in the floor of the barn, and the fire pit shoveled around just in case we wanted to use it (we were there in the middle of the winter!), no detail has been forgotten by Shawn! I can't wait to go back. The perfect location for a restful and relaxing getaway.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the farmhouse at Greengate! Not only is the lodging beautifully renovated, but all the little things from rustic decor to a full spice rack made the stay super comfortable. The endless supply of great reading material was also a unique and welcome aspect of the stay. And right on the nordic trails!!!
*resending review, not sure if the first went through-
Our Family came to the Green Gate Guest House for a ski vacation at Giants Ridge. We were unsure of how the snow conditions would be so we packed lots of games- and were completely blown away by this barn home! It was everything we needed to relax and cook up some amazing meals and memories. Comfortable, cozy, and enough room to spread out after a long day of skiing. We are definitely returning!
