Photos and Description of the Haria vacation cottage rental Front Line to the Sea at the Famous Fishing Village of Arrieta.

This unique Canarian fisherman's cottage is on the waters edge in the costal village of Arrieta. The self-catering Eco cottage runs on solar energy and is a fantastic example of sustainable living, there are 4 solar panels, the energy is then stored in batteries until used, the panels make great use of the year round Lanzarote sunshine. The cottage has been sympathetically restored using wood and stone and has kept its original Canarian court yard and balcony. You enter the property through double wooden doors into the courtyard which continues through into the fully fitted kitchen/dining room and on to the living room with a back door that opens on to the seafront promenade. On the ground floor off the courtyard there is a shower room and an external stairs up to the first floor. The large master bedroom with en-suite is on the first floor, with fantastic ocean views. A lovely retreat in a sleepy fishing village, where you can relax in a cosy romantic cottage right on the waters edge.

Arrieta is a costal Fishing Village left un-spoilt and a chance for you to see the 'Real Lanzarote'. There is a small sandy beach just 200 meters from the house and a main beach with beach bar, restaurant, toilets etc at the end of the village. There are a number of sea front Fish restaurants, tapas bars, supermarket, diving school, coffee shops etc all within walking distance. There is a traditional art and craft market held in the mountain Village of Haria every Saturday morning. There are a number of golden sand beaches on the way up to Orzola where the ferry leaves from to the neighboring island of La Graciosa. Being a rural coastal village there are some fantastic walking/cycling trails from the village along the coast either up to the village of Punta Mujeres or down to Mala/Guatiza village. Arrieta is set just 20 mins drive North of the tourist town of Costa Teguise and 30 min's from the International Airport of Arrecife.

  • Bathroom 1 is en-suite to the master bedroom. The bath is central to the room giving you a sea view through the bedroom. There is also a sink and the single bed/couch is in this room. The toilet is in a separate room off this bathroom. On the ground floor from the court yard you have an out door shower (ideal for when you get back from the beach) and separate toilet with sink.

  • The Master Bedroom suite is on the first floor with panoramic sea views and en-suit bathroom. There is a 180 wide double bed and a single bed. The light and airy bedroom has been restored with wooden floor and roof, the interior designer has given the room a cosy romantic feel and of course you have wonderful sea front views. Guest really enjoy sleeping listening to the waves lapping the shore. There is a further double Sofa bed is in the lounge for extra guests.

Mountain Bike-Walking-Birding: There are some great tracks from the house for mountain biking, cycling and Walking, this is a quiet part of the island and there is plenty to explore and discover. There are some fantastic walks from the north of the island, organized excursions can be arranged or you can discover the fantastic costal and mountain tracks independently. This is a great location to see the islands wild life. There is a fantastic array of Bird species on the island, including, Herons, Egrets, Osprey, Vultures, Falcons, Kestrels, Swifts, Hoopoes, Bee-eaters etc etc.....

Golf: The 18 hole golf course is in Costa Teguise set at the foot of an old volcano, surrounded by 3000 palms, cactus and beautiful views to the sea. Group or individual classes are available from one of the two golf professionals.

Water Sports: Lanzarote is ideal for water sports and boasts a good range. WINDSURFING - You are able to leave directly from the jetty at the house, from the beach or at Jameos Del Agua or Costa Teguise. Costa Teguise being just 15 mins away has numerous places where you can hire equipment and have a great sail. SEA KAYAK - This is also available in Costa Teguise DIVING - . There are numerous places for diving on the island the nearest to the property is in Arrieta Village. KITE SURFING - is increasing growing here and Famara beach is the main place to sail here. SURFING - best waves are either off East Coast Arrieta beach or Punta Mujeres or West Coast at Famara. You can have lessons and hire equipment at Famara. SAILING - For a day out sailing the prestigious Puerto Calero offers either private yacht or speed boat charters or a day out on a 80ft Catamaran. FISHING - You can always go fishing either from the pier at Arrieta or go out on a boat from Puerto Calero.

We had such a fantastically unique vacation at the Fisherman's Cottage in Arrieta. Up Island Lanzarote was stunningly beautiful, Arrieta itself was a delight. Fantastic restaurants recommendations, suggestiosn of things to do and local information from Tila and Michelle rounded off the whole experience to give us more relaxation per Euro than any other holiday we have taken. The ecological aspect of the holiday made it all the more enjoyable, and educational too! We can't wait to come back!

Great Romantic and Relaxing get away.

My husband and I had the most relaxing and romantic (very rare given that he is an Aussie!)week at the Fishermans Cottage. I would recommend a stay to anyone who is looking for a real chill out, the fact that there is no TV or radio is a real bonus, the sound of the ocean is all you need. The village has some smashing places to eat and the everyone is really friendly. Use the smart car as there are some really cool places to explore on the Island.

The Fisherman's Cottage in Arrieta is an excellent location to relax and unwind. My favourite time in the house was waking up in the morning to the sound and sight of the sea.
Owner's Response: A number of clients have commented on what a fantastic night sleep they've had in the king size (180) bed, whilst listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves lapping the shore! Its a great location to relax and recharge your batteries.
