Our family had an excellent stay in this apartment. It was exactly how it was described on the internet. Very clean and it has everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. All amenities were within easy reach. Our family love cooking and finding all the ingredients was no problem what so ever. A local wine shop which filled your empty plastic water bottle is nearby, plus two supermarkets. The Coop and Billa. Billa probably offered more choice for self catering. The large market at Rialto mercato is a must for wonderful fruit and vegetables. I would recommend buying a weekly transport ticket of 50 euro (if staying for the week) as each trip on the vaporetto is 6.50 euro. From the airport there is a bus 5 which costs 5 euro to take you to Piazzale Rome. Or for 15 Euro you can take the water bus in to venice. Infact the water bus was the most convenient stop from the apartment to return to the airport, especially when you have a heavy suitcase full of Italian food and wine. Once again it was a really authentic stay in Venice and I would highly recommend the apartment. The areas and convenience were first rate. Do not be put off by the ugly looking cakes in the shops. The green ones are marzipan, sultanas and pistacchio nuts they are wonderful with a glass of moscata.
The meeting point with the agent went very smoothly and was exactly as explained in the information. Everything was explained to us on how to get around and where we could buy food on a sunday evening which was very helpful.
This apartment is first class and we could recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a real and authentic visit to Venice. We were met by the owner Paulo in Apostoli Sq. He was charming and most welcoming. He insisted in helping us with our suitcases on the interesting walk to the Ca Giorgione Apartment which was just 7 minutes walk from the Ca D'Ora water bus stop. On the way he pointed out restaurants which served excellent food and were also good value. The tiny and narrow streets seemed like a maze at first but we soon found our way around very easily. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, and contained a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and modern cooker. It also had a TV and a good supply of books about Venice. It had a broom cupboard which held a plentiful supply of cleaning equipment including a vac. cleaner and an iron and ironing board. We had a room each and the sofa bed and all the beds were very comfortable. Thoughtful extras were left for us such as Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Pepper, Salt, Water and Salad Dressing. There were plenty of towels and table linen and bed linen. The location of the apartment was excellent and within touching distance almost, was a beautiful pastry shop, a bread shop just two doors away and a super market called the Coop just two minutes away which sold everything. Paulo also pointed out a local wine shop which was also on our door step and which sold perfectly good wine in plastic bottles. On the Saturday morning of our visit there was a big line of locals to get their weekend supply - always a good sign. We managed to get round on the excellent vaperettos very easily and even managed a tragetto once having visited the large Saturday market. We went to the island of Burano and there was an excellent service only 8 minutes away to this island and could be found by turning left on leaving our apartment. There is a superb Jesuit Church on the way to this water bus and its interior of green carved marble is astonishing. Indeed around every corner is something to delight. The glory of Venice will forever remain etched on our minds made all the more enjoyable by most comfortable accommodation in a lovely apartment which gave us great value for money. We will go back and look forward to again meeting Paulo and staying in his great apartment.
