VINTAGE COMFORT AND CHARM IN ONE PACKAGE.

  • 5 of 5
This cottage combines vintage charm with modern convenience along with an excellent location. We spent 6 nights enjoying the comfortable bed and pillows. Located within walking distance to the ocean, aquarium, and restaurants of Pacific Grove. The back patio provided safe bicycle storage as well as a gas grill for cooking. The kitchen was a delight with modern appliances and a very quiet dishwasher. Overall, we could not have been more pleased and would highly recommend this cottage for anyone wishing to enjoy the delights of the Monterrey Peninsula. This rental was accurately portrayed on the website, clean, comfortable, with a welcoming owner who so quickly refunded our damage deposit we were still on the way home when we received our notification of refund. Thank you.

LOVELY COTTAGE IN THE PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
We immediately felt at home upon entering this small but lovely cottage. Connie had left wine, cheese and crackers and oranges for us - perfectly delicious. All the décor and finishes, appliances and fixtures worked perfectly; some are brand new. The cottage is within walking or bicycling distance to the ocean/rec trail, many shops, restaurants, parks, museums and a short drive from so much more. We'd definitely recommend the home to friends and relatives. We were sad to have to leave both the home and the area.

PERFECT LOCATION AND WONDERFUL STAY!

  • 5 of 5
We were looking for a place that was in walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. We also wanted a comfortable setting so we could stay in and cook meals and relax. It was the best of both worlds. We were welcomed with a note from the owner, bottle of wine, and snacks! We walked down to the water, what beautiful views! The house had everything we could have possibly needed from coffee and spices to a cozy bed, wi-fi, and hot shower! Cute cottage with plenty of street parking (and driveway too). It was quiet at night so we could get some sleep as well :) We were also there during the Big Sur 1/2 marathon and the house was literally 100ft from where the runners went by - it was perfect! Oh and we became quite familiar with the Red House Cafe - breakfast was fantastic!

BOTH COMFORTABLE AND BEAUTIFUL

  • 5 of 5
Very, very lovely cottage in my favorite town! The pictures are good, but the reality is even better. The arrangement of space, the beautiful floors, and the deft use of colors - primarily whites, creams, and blues - throughout this house create an airy sense of spaciousness that makes the actual size seem much larger. Many windows, which allow both morning and afternoon sun to stream in. Everything about the house was immaculate, and everything was thought of: plenty of towels and toiletries, an abundance of fluffy pillows, a down comforter, pretty and fully stocked kitchen (I actually cooked very little, but there were plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, etc.), and an unusually varied and recent selection of DVDs and relaxation reading. The deep red enameled wood stove (converted to gas) in the corner of the living room was inviting in the evening. Communication with the owner was always a pleasure - I regret I didn't have the opportunity to actually meet her in person.

There is a good selection of local restaurant menus in a loose-leaf notebook on one of the tables, as well as a reusable grocery bag in one of the kitchen drawers from Grove Market, a quick 2-block walk from the house. My own favorite breakfast spot is Holly's Lighthouse Cafe, about a block away (try the apple-oatmeal pancakes), and I'm a fan of the Red House Cafe for any meal. If you are a coffee and/or wine aficionado, you might want to try Crema, a new and locally owned expresso and wine bar a little bit further down Lighthouse Ave. Enter on the sidewalk level, then take your order upstairs and find a comfortable place to sit.

I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone, and am already looking forward to my return.

PERFECT WEEKEND IN PACIFIC GROVE

  • 5 of 5
This review is definitely overdue. Let me start off by saying that we have stayed in PG several times over the past few years, and Connie’s lovely cottage was by far the best we've been too! We loved the cozy feel of the cottage and the linens and bed were extremely comfy. We loved that we could walk around the corner to quaint little downtown pacific grove for a meal or a coffee. Lover's point was easy to get to on foot and cannery row was a bit further but we went on foot as well. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage, and with the well equipped and very functional kitchen. It was so nice to turn on the fireplace and relax in the evening. We also enjoyed the brie and champagne that Connie left for us on the front porch and found that to be very thoughtful and hospitable. Other major bonuses were the driveway (very rare in PG), the ihome, the games, movies, flatscreen TV, lotions and bath products, and dishwasher! We have definitely found our perfect spot to stay when we return to PG in the future!

LOVELY COTTAGE IN A GREAT LOCATION.

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at this sweet cottage located in the heart of Pacific Grove. We were able to walk to all of our favorite restaurants. Lovely location! The stay was easy to arrange and rate was so reasonable for the August visit to Monterrey. We enjoyed our trip very much.
