“Galveston Tropical Getaway” at Maravilla is now ready for your Galveston beach holiday. Our one bedroom condo, at the popular ocean front Maravilla Resort Condominium on Seawall Blvd in Galveston has been completely rebuilt and refurbished in cool relaxing colors.

We think of it as our Romantic Galveston Getaway and invite you to visit. This condo, one of our five personally owned and managed Maravilla condos, sleeps five with a queen-sized bed in the bedroom with a mirrored closet wall, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room and a single bed in a hide-away nook.

Walk through the sliding doors from the living room to your private balcony overlooking the largest of Maravilla’s three pools with a view of the hot tub and Galveston Gulf in the distance.

The well-designed kitchen is fully equipped with granite countertops and stainless appliances. We enjoy cooking when we visit so our condo is equipped with all the specialized items you will need for that romantic dinner including an electric griddle, a blender, a crockpot as well as wine and margarita glasses and for those special occasions - champagne flutes. You can eat at the bar or sit at the round table. Of course our favorite place to dine is on the covered balcony.

The bathroom has a tiled walk-in shower. All of the floors, as well as the balcony have 20 inch ceramic tile. We are proud to be one of the first people to redo our condo. That means that everything is brand new (except for some of our art work and the wicker furniture in the bedroom). Although we have no idea when, it is to be expected that some condo owners will also be re-doing their condos in the upcoming months which might mean some noise during the day. We will do our best to alert our guests should we learn that a neighbor will be doing some construction. Come and enjoy our 'romantic Galveston getaway condo'. By the way, this condo is right next door to our 'Galveston Tropical Getaway #2' so invite friends and family to enjoy one of Marilyn and Larry's 'Galveston Tropical Condos at Maravilla.'

Why Marilyn Swanson chose Galveston

We, Larry and Marilyn, purchased our 'Galveston Tropical Getaway' in 2008 - right before Hurricane Ike. It was our third Maravilla condo because we wanted to enjoy Maravilla when it was just the two of us visiting. The idea was to make it our romantic getaway. Then came Hurricane Ike - followed by the Maravilla fire. The good news - when we rebuilt and restored 'Galveston Tropical Getaway' we made it better than before.

Our condo at Maravilla Resort Condominiums is located on the western part of Seawall Boulevard on Galveston Island in Texas. Galveston is 45 miles south of Houston with easy access to two airports - Hobby (closest) and George W. Bush International Airport (a bit farther north). While at the condo you will be right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico and will be less than 3 miles from Schilitterbahn indoor/outdoor water park and Moody Gardens.

RELAXING STAY

This is one of the best condos that I have stayed at - the owners thought of everything - all we needed to add was food and wine! The condo was clean and had all we needed in the kitchen to cook some of our meals. The patio was so nice to look out on the pool and we did water the plants. Restaurants and stores were close by. Definitely on my list for a repeat visit.

Thank you so much to the owners for letting us rent their beautiful condo for the weekend. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday with a girls weekend and this was perfect. The pictures are exactly what the condo looks like. Quiet, just enough room for us 4, the pool and hot tub were amazing, everything was great. This is a nice end of the beach away from the craziness of the Seawall but still close enough to be near "town". Parking was great as well. The owners we so nice and easy to work with to book and to check out, even letting us stay later at the pool. I definitely recommend these wonderful people! So nice. Thanks again and I will definitely be coming back with the girls or my family.

Relaxing birthday weekend !!

Loved our stay at this property . The condo is beautiful . I stayed there with a few girlfriends for my birthday . We had a great time . Very relaxing weekend spent lounging by the pool. The grounds are so pretty & tropical . Our balcony overlooks the big pool & made for a great view. We had plenty of room in the condo . Very updated kitchen & loved the walk-in shower . I will defantly revisit this property . Hopefully soon ! The couple that own the property are really great . Made us feel so welcome like we were family .

Quiet and lovely

This condo is exactly as shown in the pictures - just lovely! The furnishings are classy and comfortable. We stayed during spring break and I was a little worried about noise. It was not an issue. The parking area had a good number of cars, so there were plenty of people staying there, but you just wouldn’t know it. The owner was very gracious and easy to work with. We really appreciate her hospitality. Galveston was a great place to vacation. Be sure to start at the Visitor's center for information on what to see and do. Pick up resturant coupons too!

Note: If you are traveling through Houston, stop and see the Johnson Space Center. It is absolutely amazing! Plan to spend a minimum of 3-4 hours. Buy tickets online for a huge discount.

We stayed in Galveston and were very happy with this condo. It is convenient to beaches and to eating places. (Just a short drive) The condo was very clean and well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal. We plan on staying there again soon!
