Guestbook comments from the manager
We had a great time at Cheryl Ann and Lori's cabin!! We were looking for a relaxing family holiday and this was the perfect place. The cabin is surrounded by great trails and peace and quiet, but still conveniently located - we were able to make trips to a few interesting towns like Duncan, Coombs, Cumberland, and Nanaimo. Cheryl Ann and Lori were very accommodating and welcoming! The cabin was very clean, organized, and well-equipped with everything we needed. They were kind enough to provide us with a crib and highchair for our 7 month old, which really made travelling lighter possible! We were also impressed with the DVD collection, which we utilized every night. I would most definitely recommend staying with Cheryl Ann and Lori.
Cheryl Ann or Lori
Lori and Cheryl Ann are outdoor enthusiasts. Both have traveled extensively and are experienced wilderness campers.
Cheryl Ann and Lori are active in paddling- outrigger, voyageur, dragon boat, sculling, canoeing, kayaking- you name it! They have been married for 7 years and love living in the Nanoose Bay area.
We have always loved the relaxed lifestyle of Vancouver Island and it was our dream to own property here. This guest house is named in honor of Al Robertson. He was a gentle Aboriginal man who honored nature. Al was an avid hiker and helped us find this location. In memory of Al, we have used 'Red Hawk' as the name for this guest house.
This property has a perfect location- a couple hundred meters away from a forest reserve- where we can hike for hours. All the lots here are 5 to 10 acres so it is very private. There is much wildlife here- especially deer who love to munch on our garden- but we don't mind. In addition, it is on dead end road so there is virtually no traffic. It feels like a very remote location- yet we are only a 14 min drive to a big shopping complex.
