Great place to stay in Vieques
We are 4 adults in our mid 60's and we just made our second trip to Vieques. Our first was in 2009 and we wish we had found this house for that vacation. The view at Villa Panorama IS spectacular from either the upper deck or the pool level. The pool is always crystal clear and inviting. The living area is spacious enough for 4. There is a dining area with a table and 6 chairs but we never ate inside. The windows were never shut because the breeze was like having a fan on all the time. The kitchen is roomy enough for two to cook. We ate in several times and did not find the kitchen lacking except for some small items. We will send our suggestions to the owners on this. One drawback to the kitchen is that it lacks a true oven. (There is a toaster oven.) It was not a problem for us because we used the grill as an oven. There are two queen beds in the one bedroom and a king bed in the master bedroom. Both beds were comfortable as were the pillows. The A/C if needed works well. We always had hot water even though it takes awhile to get to the kitchen. The broker/agent, Julie, was very prompt and clear in her communication with us. Renee, the caretaker/property manager communicated with us via email before our arrival, met us at the airport, guided us to the house, oriented us to our new vacation home and answered all of our questions. She also helped us communicate locally because we did not have standard cell service. We were very grateful to have her there. If I could give 4 1/2 stars instead of 4, I would. I have to detract a little bit for the lack of an oven in the kitchen and for the limited "closet" space in the casita/second bedroom. That's not a problem for those of us who are minimalist packers. The 4 baths are a great plus.
In the end the test is, would we go back to this place and the answer is yes. Its comfortable, secure, in a neighborhood and close enough to Isabelle II for convenience. You must have a car on Vieques.
