Our stay in the Smokies!

Alvin and Allison here from New Orleans enjoyed our week long stay in the Mystic Sunrise Cabin so much, we're already trying to plan a 3rd trip back to the Smokies next year, and we want this cabin to be our home away from home again! From the great views, to the fully stocked kitchen. From the Jacuzzi and Hottub to the Pool Table, and games, the Mystic Sunrise was a treat! It is quite literally minutes away from everything the Smokies has to offer. You won't have to drive far for much of anything. Our stay didn't go without a few hiccups, however. One night we came home from a long but awesome day in the smokies and we discovered a bat swooping down from the raptors like Batman! Needless to say we freaked out. Lol! That leads me to Amy, who was our maintenance contact. She and her husband were so nice and so helpful to us! They literally came up there at 10pm at night, caught the bat and drove away and released it back into the wild. I told them they were our heroes! Lol! We don't know how the bat got in. Maybe from the night before when I went to take out the trash at 1am or so? I left the door opened, so It's the only way it could've gotten in. But we didn't see it at all during the day so I don't know. Either way, Allison and I look back on his and laugh! And another thing that happened was on the final night of our stay, the storms that spawned the OklahomaCity tornado had made its way to the Tennessee Valley and it stormed so bad, it knocked out the internet, satellite tv, and telephone so we spent that night relaxing in the jacuzzi and enjoying the rain cooled air and the moonlight as its light shined so bright, Mt. LeConte was clearly visible as was the clouds flowing over it. So beautiful, I'll never forget how amazing it looked. Needless to say, the bat situation and the strong storms was no where the fault of The Preserve Resort so It's not a negative on our stay at all. Anyway, this was the best visit to the Smokies so far (two years straight) and it's not a coincidence that our greatest visit to the smokies as spent at The Preserve Resort. Karen, the cabin's owner was a blessing and a sweetheart and we thank you for opening up your cabin to us! You are awesome! Hope to stay here again next year!
