Jamestown Park, in the heart of Historic Holetown, on the West coast of Barbados. Holetown is the place where the first visitors to Barbados landed, that was the Portuguese in 1627, who named the place 'los Babadoes' meaning land of the bearded fig trees. Our property is in a tranquil area, surrounded by the following hotels and restaurants: Hotels: Discovery bay, Sandpiper, Settlers Beach, Mango Bay . Restaurants:- Olives, The Mews, Star Fish, Tides, Cocomos, Blue rare, Angry Annies. From our property, you can also walk to the shopping mall where you will find a large supermarket, Internet cafe, and a large department store with duty free shopping (cave Shepherd). Also within a 4-min walk is a 24hr gas station, which also has a shop, attached. Four banks, the post office, police station and public library completes Holetown city centre. On the beach you will find many water sports operators and beach bars, such as Surfside bar. Tropical tranquillity yet close to all the action.

  • For the quality of our accommodation, compare our rates Mango Bay hotel or the Sandpiper or Settlers Beach. These properties are on the beach and therefore have higher prices but the quality of our accommodation is comparable. When comparing rates remember that our villas and pools/spas are private, so you can set up your own barbecue in the middle of the pool deck anytime, or on a lawn, invite your friends and family, put on some music, share the rum, wine and beer and use the property without worrying about anyone else!!! (cant do this in a cluster of villas, apartments or at a hotel !). This privacy feature plus the fact that everything that matters is a short safe walk away are important advantages.
  • The price quote is for 4 persons, an extra person(s) to make 5 or 6 will be at USD 20 per day per person For the quality of our accommodation, compare our rates Mango Bay hotel or the Sandpiper or settlers Beach. These properties are on the beach and therefore have higher prices but the quality of our accommodation is comparable
  • There is a 7.5% value added tax payable to the Government of Barbados. (not included in price quote)

The bathrooms have both tub and shower, ample towel racks, a large mirror with strip lighting. The villa has a hot water system which works from solar panels and has an electrical back up. The half bathroom is downstairs and facilitates easy access for your guests or when you are using the pool and don't want to go upstairs

Notes: From the dining room , the living room and the kitchen you can see the garden spa. You walk out of the living room on to the semicircular entertainment patio which has tropical plants on both sides and then on to the garden lawn. The entertainment patio is perfect for alfresco dining. The setting on the entertainment patio is unique. You have lush gardens on both sides with humming bird feeders. So when you are not directly in the sun on the lawn , you can come on to the patio in the shade to read or even sit at the outside table with a beer, rum punch or whatever your heart fancies. This is the only villa with a spa. It is a six seater spa with adjustable temperature and back massage jets All of our villas were designed by an architectural firm, who designed each one for total privacy i.e. individual separate entrances, separate parking, own pool and garden or spa.

Guest Comments: Hi Carlton Just wanted to say that we really enjoyed our stay in Vida Mejor. One of the best holidays we've ever had. The villa is fantastic, well equipped and with lots of space inside. As you know we loved the pool and gardens (and the fact that you work so hard to keep them tidy and clean) and couldn't believe we were lucky enough to see some monkeys. We were pleased to find that everything really is within walking distance of the villa but enjoyed our days out in your car, although some of those back roads are not for the faint of heart. I'm sure you will have no problem renting out your new villas. Thanks for showing us round them they both looked fantastic, but I think Vida Mejor will always hold a special place in our hearts. We have told all our friends about what a great place you have and the friendly welcome and service you provide, so hopefully you'll see some more new faces from Scotland. Guests Comments: Carlton We cannot believe that it almost 4 days since we got back to the UK. I can still see myself walking round to the pool for my early morning dip! But hey, I suppose all good things must come to an end, and in leaving it has made us as determined as ever to get back over to Barbados again as soon as possible. On behalf of all of us, I want to thank you for everything laid on for us, from the taxi at the airport, to the car hire, and obviously the fabulous villa. Although the pictures on the web site were very good, we were all blown away by the luxury and spaciousness of the villa, the wonderful gardens and the relaxing pool. Even if we had tried we could not have picked a better place to stay for our holiday, access to the beach, and location in relation to the rest of the island. Everything was perfect. Beautiful Villa - Beautiful Island

We stayed here a week and wish it had been longer. We are two couples and the Villa was perfect and accurately described in every respect. Perfect relaxation and get away spot. The beach IS a very brief walk away and very beautiful; nice sand, beautiful water, perfect for sunsets.. There is a resort which will rent you chairs et al on the beach, or you can just rough-it. If you have a car, try some of the other resorts North along the coastal road. They all seem to welcome to day visitors.

We had seven perfect evenings: 1) Walk to the beach for sunset; 2) Back to the house for a dip in the pool; 3) Rum drinks on the veranda overlooking the pool and the sunset; 4) Walk to dinner in Holetown. There must be at least a dozen good to great restaurants in Holetown, all price ranges, all less than a 10 minute walk. Make reservations! Weekends are real party time!

The owner was very accommodating, gracious, and available. Stocked the house as we requested (gotta get some Mt Gay ruhm!) and was helpful in every way.

Barbados is beautiful and full of friendly people. Try to get to the East coast to see how different it can be. We've been all over the Caribbean as this was one of the best. Highly recommended.

A happy find

The house was spatious and comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet and lovely, the walk to the beach, to the village, and to many restaurants, was quite short. I was happy not to have to rent a car. I would definitely recommend this rental to a friend.

This Villa lived up to every expectation and was particularly well furnished and finished. What made it a bit 'special' was having the owner local and very willing to help with a range of things whenever we needed from car hire and outings to putting us in touch with his trusted taxi!
The Cliff and the Tiami Catamaran are absolute musts with the latter (which over the years we have done 5 times) has to be one of the best value and fun days out in the Carribbean. We will be back!

Dear Carlton,

We thought that it won't be possible to beat our last year's holiday in your villa - we had such a brilliant time last time.

You proved us wrong. I cannot express in words how immensely we have enjoyed every minute of our stay in your villa this year. The villa, gardens and the swimming pool (we are missing it so much...) are superb - we had absolutely brilliant time and came back to the UK completely detoxicated. Thank you ever so much for everything. Please pass our regards to Ryan - he is so dependable - and Faye too - she is brilliant and we enjoyed talking to her very much.

Barbados is a truly magical place. There are many other beautiful places in the world however Bajan people make your island very special. We can't wait when we come back to your little piece of heaven again.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed in one of Carlton's houses (Feb. 2005, Feb. 2006, Feb. 2008) and have to say that not only are the properties beautiful and well-maintained; Carlton is also a very pleasant and attentive landlord and makes sure that his guests are happy in his houses. If there is an item a guest feels would make the house more comfortable (like kitchen utensils, CD player, etc) he makes sure that it is provided.
It is wonderful to be in a place like Barbados and have the comforts of home to really relax. It is also great not to have to go out for every meal; the well-equipped kitchen is great for preparing meals and the shopping centre is just a short walk away.
I will gladly go back, any time.
