Villa Raffaelli was constructed as a medioeval fortress in 1582. It was the country residence to the Raffaelli's, a noble family of Lucca : they were bishops, judges and writers; Pietro Raffaelli was the predecessor to the Duke of Modena. Within the centries old walls of the villa one can still admire the original stuccos and affrescos adorning the ceilings plus an ample collection of antique furniture. Beside an ancient waterwell is the wooden decked swimming pool (10x5x0,9) complete with sunchairs and gazebo. Heated Jacuzzi availlable, in the winter covered by a glass dome. All the villa’s main rooms plus the garden posses a magnificant view of the tuscan Apuan Alps, of Michelangelo.
