Our sun-soaked beach house, merely a two-minute walk from the surf, overlooks the Gulf of Mexico as it flows through the San Luis Pass into Galveston West Bay. Miles of peaceful oceanfront sand stretch around our community on Treasure Island, just beyond the west end of Galveston.

San Luis Pass has some of the best trout fishing on the Gulf Coast. You will also find great fishing opportunities in Surfside, 20 minutes away, including wade and drift fishing. Many enjoy surf fishing in the beach in front of our house, and deep sea fishing expeditions may be booked out of Surfside.

The 12-mile long beach between San Luis Pass and Surfside also provides an ideal spot for picnics, kite-flying, and building castles in the sand. Vacationers can also surf, swim, hunt for shells, sunbathe.

Also only 20 minutes away is historic Galveston. Here you can enjoy the thrills of Schlitterbahn water park, tour Moody Gardens, shop The Strand, dine at fabulous restaurants, play miniature golf, take in a movie, rent a bike, and more.

Located on The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, San Luis Pass features one of the state's top ten birding areas. Grab our binoculars to watch the pelicans dive and the dolphins play!

Thanksgiving getaway

Great location and enjoyable home. We were there during 'off' season so area not overly crowded. Very short distance to the beach, so easy to walk to beautiful ocean. Enjoyed time hanging out on the deck enjoying the November weather. Pet friendly so we were able to bring out dogs and share the vacation with them. We brought most of our food with us (did not know exactly what to expect that time of year). Convenience store across the road that was well supplied, but has reduced hours during the winter months. We had plenty of room for the two of us and our dogs. You need to be make sure that you don't need anything major from a store, because the closest 'box' store or major grocery store is at least 20 minutes away. We had NO issue with that because owner's made that clear to us so we were prepared. The neighborhood is nicely laid out. Some people were in town for the holiday, but not near the number that would be there during the summer months. We really enjoyed ourselves. Hanging out in the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted. Found an enjoyable seafood restaurant about 15 minutes away... Red Snapper Inn. Great food...but might have to wait during busier months. The lift is extremely helpful when trying to get all of your stuff upstairs. It makes it painless. great stay.

What a wonderful place tp relax. I searched for a long time to find something for everyone and this house and location was everything it said it was. Great fishing, birds , beaches, quiet and the house was fabulous!. It was so comfortable and the owners Jim and Patricia were so helpful with any questions that we had. I would recommend this property to anyone that might be looking for a wonderful place for a week-end or vacation. Our seven days could not have been better. Thank you for sharing your home with us andI hope we can do it again next year!

Relaxing and Fun!

My husband, 17 year old daughter, 12 year old son, and I just had the best weekend ever at this beach home on Buccaneer! It was so comfortable and so much fun!

The home had everything...plenty of kitchen dishes and utensils, very comfortable beds and cots, a nice gas grill, outside shower, a very convenient utility lift, a large ice maker, and so many other small details. Our favorite though, was the golf cart that made trips to the beach with all our gear and ice chest just too easy. The kids really enjoyed exploring around the area in the gold cart.

The location was perfect for fishing, bird watching, and playing along the quiet uncrowded beaches. The house is close enough to get to all the attractions in Galveston, but without the traffic and crowds.

We definitely want to come back!
