NEW PRIVATE WATER FRONT LUXURY VILLA WITH INCREDIBLE VIEWS

We stayed at the Lazy Gecko for the week between Christmas and New Year's. It was an excellent choice for our group of 10. The owners were incredibly helpful in providing info about the property and things to do, and the onsite staff was fantastic . The housekeeping includes daily laundry service.

We liked having our own area on the lagoon behind our house and then access to the sea beach across the road. Access was super easy. The property is beautiful and well appointed, including the kitchen. It was easy for us to cook for a group of 10 - made even easier when we were able to get fresh lobster to cook on the grill outside. I would recommend bringing some staples that are easy to throw in your luggage -- there's a pretty decent little grocery store a short golf-cart trip away, and you can find most things there, but it was nice to have some stuff from home (pasta, pancake mix, some packaged items).

The property overall was immaculate. Beds were comfortable, towels were nice. It's a very pretty property and the photos are very accurate on this site. We actually had two lazy geckos sunning themselves outside on the planters every day.

There is much to do in the area, but it is a bit of a drive. Our family of three relied on the golf cart; our friends rented cars. The owners also supply a helpful resource list. We recommend the Maya Beach Bistro for food and Splash Dive for water excursions (they do other things as well). Do not miss the gelato in town or Brenda's Jamaican shack right by the docks. She's a sweetie and her food is so good.

Make sure you also take advantage of the pool at the Placencia resort down the road. Half of our traveling party spent quite a bit of time there. It's a nice change from the beach.

I highly recommend this rental. Owners are very easy to work with and extremely helpful. It was a very good experience from start to finish.

House is very nice and Rosa was an excellent house keeper. Easily slept 4 couples.

This was a perfect home for our family. We are three generations (12 ) and as grandparents found plenty of room for the six grandchildren and their parents and us. Location is upscale and we loved the beach and the use of kayaks to go out to the island. Owners were great to work with and Brenda was very helpful and conscientious keeping the rooms clean and doing the laundry. Percy from Monkey River even picked us up at the lagoon to take us on a great tour. House was special, good local restaurants.
