The condo was clean and nicely furnished, with one exception. The mattress has a "king-size" V in middle (it was like sleeping in a pita pocket). Had to sleep crosswise - was like being in a Lazy Boy chair with rear end down in the pocket & head & foot slightly elevated but more comfortable than rolling into pocket in middle of mattress.
"Fully equipped kitchen" is not exactly a true statement. Microwave does not work for more than 60 seconds. Power to microwave shut off 2 times we tried to use it beyond 60 secs. Sent email to owner but got no response. Gave up on using it. This could be a potential fire hazard.
Sink doesn't hold water to wash dishes so had to use a serving bowl for a dishpan. No dishcloths -- used washcloth to wash dishes. Plenty of kitchen towels available.
No cookie sheet available to bake in oven. One small 4x5 metal tray available but only large enough to bake 4 biscuits at a time.
Ice maker not hooked up but had 4 ice cube trays available. We purchased bags of ice. Plastic Ice bucket liner full of cracks rendering it non-functional. Bring your own corkscrew because there isn't one in this condo.
A roll of paper towels and sample size box of Tide laundry detergent were the provided for cleaning. Not wanting us use up these "precious" commodities, we purchased our own detergent and paper towels (dish soap, too). We were very satisfied with the laundry facilities available but there was absolutely no cleaning supplies, such as Windex or bathroom cleaner, to maintain the unit. Basic cleaning products items have always been provided in the many condos we've rented thru the years (including a condo we rented several years ago in Estero Beach & Tennis Club). We would have gladly Windexed the glass topped table after each use as well as spot cleaned the bathroom periodically during our 2 week stay if we'd had access to basic cleaning supplies. There was a broom to keep the floor tidy but no vacuum or sweeper to vacuum the rug.
TV and availability of WiFy were very much appreciated (and used). Suggest that a TV Channel guide be made available. The property, pool and pool aea were beautiful & well maintained.
I would recommend this unit to a friend only if the owner made the following improvements: replace the king size mattress, repair or replace the microwave, purchase a cookie sheet & corkscrew, provide a plastic basin and dishcloths for use to wash dishes and provide basic cleaning supplies (Windex & bathroom cleaner).
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. I rely on them to repair and replace any items that are missing or broken. I'm sorry that I didn't receive your email. I would have definitely responded had I received it. When I went into my unit after your stay, I did notice that the bed was sagging in the middle. I've since replaced the bedframe with a new one. I'm sorry that this made your stay uncomfortable. The items that you've listed that were missing in the kitchen will be replaced. Occasionally in a rental small items will go missing and I appreciate your letting me know! There was a dishpan and drain mat in the unit, however it was missing. I will replace those and the other items right away. While I appreciate your offer to clean with products made available to you, most cleaning supplies are not child safe and therefore are not left in the unit. Most rental units on the beach adhere to this policy.
In a few weeks, my unit will be undergoing a renovation that will include a new kitchen with all new appliances (including a dishwasher). I hope that if you choose Estero Beach and Tennis Club for your next visit you will take another look at my unit after my reno!
