In a beautiful old Basque villa, in the heart of the village of Guethary, a 3 bedrooms appartement with all the windows giving on the ocean ! Guethary is a gem of the Cote Basque, last small genuine fishermen's village, it's also a world class surf spot. Once at the villa, almost everything is reachable by foot : cute protected beach to swim safely with kids - less than 100m away, rocky points to surf, great restaurants with amazing ocean views ( 'Le Madrid', next door, 'L'Heteroclito', midway to the beach with breathtaking suspended terrasse above the ocean, great iberico ham and wines, 'Harotzen Costa', refined cuisine right by the water...) And even if you can forget your car, it's good to know there is a private parking, very precious in summer time ! Very rare as well in the heart of the village, the villa is surrounded by a private garden. The appartement is a duplex, the upper floor occupying the whole last floor of the villa, giving the sound of the waves to fall asleep.

  • The two main bedrooms are at the top floor, with beautiful ocean views and the sound of the waves to fall asleep. They both are just under the roof and are therefore all in wood with a cosy feeling. They both have a small desk and a living room corner to read and relax. One has a queen bed and the other has two twins that can be transformed into a real queen. There is an extra twin. The 3rd room is on the main floor, between the living room and the bathroom. It has a great ocean view as well and can be transformed into a playroom for kids.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a little hideaway after 2 weeks of working in Paris - and our only criteria was surfing and fresh fish. Cedric little hidden gem was just the place. It was a total home away from home - beautifully & simply decorated, adorable bedrooms and all Surfing and National Geographic mags, much like out little Brooklyn Apt. Every morning we would wake up, grab our boards and suits and run down to the local Cenitz beach - consistent surf and perfect size... great little cafe right there on the water too. We didn't have to go far for anything - we wanted to be in a tinier place than Biarritz, but not be too far - just 10 minutes drive! Most evenings we went to cafe Madrid in front of the apt - where they played great music and had delicious fresh food, very friendly too. We cannot wait to return!
