This beautiful and spacious Garden apartment takes up an entire floor of our 1880s brownstone. It has its own backyard which is great for summertime barbecue.
Our building is only two to three stops from Manhattan via the 4, 5, and F trains, and a couple of stops from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Compare this to other Brooklyn apartments that are half an hour or more from Manhattan. We are also only steps away from Pier 6 where you can hop on a water taxi into the city or Governor's Island, play some beach volleyball or walk down the promenade. Easy access to Grocery stores for food shopping and other daily amenities as well.
Cobble Hill is a great neighborhood bordering Brooklyn Heights and Carroll Gardens - all of which are filled with quaint and award winning restaurants (Sushi, Thai, Irish pubs, Americana you name it), shops, French cafes and parks. Admire the 1800s architecture as you stroll through this historic neighborhood - you may even decide to spend the day exploring this area rather than venture into Manhattan.
The apartment has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress top, a comfortable gigantic sofa that is large enough to seat 4-5 or sleep one comfortably, two brand new LCD TVs with DirecTV, a kitchen with stainless steel range and new cookware, original hardwood floors. We know you will enjoy your stay here with us!
The backyard/garden is shared with me and my family - if you plan to have an event in the backyard please contact me ahead of time to coordinate.
We had a wonderful experience having our relatives stay at Keow's home. It was so comfortable with everything needed for a great stay. Beds are great with lovely linens. Kitchen is equipped with all you need to make a meal instead of having to rely on going out all the time. It rained for the days they stayed so did not have a chance to hang out in the back garden, which was disappointing as it looks lovely from the kitchen windows. Also of note, even though it is right next to a busy street, it was very quiet. More quiet than our apartment further back in Brooklyn.
Keow was super nice and was very easy to communicate with for any questions. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Brooklyn - and especially to have an entire apartment with all conveniences available. It is a great place to stay.
Finding this apartment on HomeAway was perfect for us. We needed to be nearby family in Brooklyn for two weeks as we welcomed a new grandchild into our fold! The apt. was only a block and a half away and a Godsend. It was exactly how it was described, clean, well maintained and Keow provided waters, coffee filters, paper towels, for the kitchen and even soap, shampoo and conditioner for the bath. There were plenty of clean towels, hot water, and warm radiators....The owner, Keow, went above and beyond the call of a perfect hostess. The weather was very wintry the two weeks there and she would shovel the front patio and sidewalks for us every morning. If you need to stay in Cobble Hill for any reason don't go anywhere else...this will suit your need.
This apartment was clean and comfortable and Keow was a very kind and helpful host. We were a short walking distance to our daughter's apartment which made our stay during Thanksgiving easy. I was able to do some cooking in the apartment to take over for dinner. Even though the property is older, it is very well maintained and clean. We were concerned about the highway noise, but it was a non-factor. It was quiet and easy to sleep on the very comfortable bed. My only suggestion is to move the bedroom back to the front area as it was kind of difficult to cook in the morning with the bedroom so close to the kitchen. The minimal noise in the front room would not have hindered our sleep. We will be traveling to Brooklyn a lot in the future and will not hesitate to stay at this property. Thanks Keow, you made our stay easy! (Frankies and Prime Meats are two of the best places I have ever eaten and are within walking distance.)
I came to Brooklyn to attend my daughters wedding, my wife, daughter and daughter's friend stayed in the apartment. The first impression was how clean the apartment was. Keow met me and gave me the keys and a tour of the place, she was very nice. we stayed two nights and were only a 15 min walk from all the wedding activities. There are many cafe's, markets and places to eat and drink in the neighborhood. If you've stayed anywhere in NYC you know that the rooms are pricey and very small. The apartment was very reasonable and spacey, though it was near a busy street and highway, the apartment was surprizingly quiet. Thank you Keow for your hospitality, I would without hesitation stay here again.
Koew was the consummate hostess and provided us with a lovely and immaculate apartment that contained everything we needed for a comfortable 5 night stay. We had just sold our home & needed a place to stay in Brooklyn before moving. We were already familiar with the neighborhood so were thrilled to find such a lovely place at a very reasonable nightly rate. For anyone visiting Brooklyn this is a great apartment, convenient to Brooklyn Bridge Park, Red Hook, Subways to Manhattan, and the best areas in Brooklyn: Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Boerum, Hill, Brooklyn Heights & Dumbo. Actually, there is no reason to leave Brooklyn anymore. It rivals Manhattan & this vacation apartment is ideal to savor all that Brooklyn has to offer. The area is full of great restaurants from the new restaurant on the corner to small local restaurants & great pizzerias on every street. Bakeries, boutiques, ethnic delights. Close to Atlantic Avenue with great Middle Eastern cuisine & Sahadi's Middle Eastern market. Court Pastries has the best Sfogliodelle & Cannolis. Smith St. is full of lovely boutiques & great places to have brunch. Thanks again Koew for a great last week in Brooklyn!
The apartment was immaculate. I don't think I ever stayed in a cleaner place. There were plenty of towels and linens. It is located on the highway but it is some how insulated so you cannot hear the traffic noise. We were a little surprised to see that you had to walk through one room to get to another but it turned out to be a NYC thing and not a problem for the three of us. The price is right! The neighborhood is great. It's close to the F train that bought us to wherever we needed to go in the city. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to visit on the walk to the subway. Thank you Keow! You were very attentive.
This roomy apartment was only minutes from Manhattan, but we loved Brooklyn more than I ever expected. Charming tree-lined streets with delightful restaurants, we fell in love with Cobble Hill. Keow could not have been friendlier or more sensitive to our needs. A great bargain for anyone wanting to visit New York.
This Pre-war Brownstone is located in the historic and established Cobble Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn. This trendy area is filled with restaurants, French Patisseries, cafes and shopping boutiques. If you want to visit Manhattan it is only a 5 minute subway ride from one of our many subway stations (A,C,2,3,4,5,F,G stations).
We are also also steps away from Pier 6 - a newly built recreational area that includes beach volleyball courts, promenades, areas for fishing and picnicking. During the summers boats offer free rides to Governor's Island (a popular tourist destination) and various areas in Manhattan. From Pier 6 you can watch the 4th of July fireworks,or enjoy the night view of the Manhattan Skyline.
The newly built Nets basketball stadium, located next to the Atlantic Mall,is a 10 minute drive from this property.
Also within walking distance is the DUMBO area which is home to cobble streets, the Brooklyn Bridge, famous Grimaldi's pizza, and the Five Star Restaurant - River Cafe.
