The Cougar Crest Trail is a four mile (round trip) trek, one needs plenty of water on this hike. The trail is very dry but as one goes through the steep and rocky hills, they get to see a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains that make it well worth the while.
The Castle Rock Trail, a two mile trek, is considered moderate for the hiker who is “in shape”. It has beautiful scenery, a running stream, a waterfall, and a fantastic view of Big Bear Lake once you reach the top. Mountain Bikers can take the Sky Chair to the top and then go back down after you choose from many of the scenic bike trails. Whether you’re a beginner or expert mountain biker, there is something for everyone. If you do not have a bike, there are some available for rent, as well as helmets too.
