Situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales in an area of outstanding natural beauty this is an alternative self catering venue to bring family and friends for an active or relaxing holiday, a celebration, short break or reunion. Converted in 2007, we have spent many hours, with the help of an architect, to create a stunning and contemporary design. Luxuriously furnished and equipped with 5 bedrooms (3 kings and 2 twins)all with 19' flat screen TVs; 5 wet room shower rooms; spa bath; wooden barrel indoor hot tub; infra-red sauna; and Scandinavian indoor BBQ with seating for 12 covered with reindeer skins. The Great Room has a handmade table with pews to seat 14 and an informal sitting area. A further galleried sitting room upstairs seats 12 on comfortable leather sofas. 42' LCD TV with full package Sky HD, DVD and iPod docking station. It has underfloor heating throughout ran by an air source heat pump and a ventilation and heat recovery system.

The Eden Valley is nestled close to the English Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. England’s most enduring myths drift through the enchanting countryside, villages and the traditional towns of Penrith, Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and Alston. Kirkby Stephen is 2 miles away from the chapel where this quaint market town has banks; supermarket; chemist; doctor; dentist; restaurants; pubs; coffee shops; tourist information centre; antique shops etc. It is popular for tourists as it is situated on the Pennine Way and is visited by many walkers. The nearest pub to the chapel is half a mile and serves good food. Eden will surprise you with its range of activities - there is so much to choose - from strenuous high mountain paths to gentle riverside strolls, plus golf, sailing, canoeing and other water sports. The Eden Valley is increasingly popular with cyclists who enjoy the quiet country lanes and the famous C2C cycle-route.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 50% deposit is required to make a booking. The payment balance is due 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday together with a refundable £250 security deposit cheque. This is when detailed directions will be sent. If booking within 6 weeks of the start of your holiday, full payment is required. If the booking is cancelled after the deposit is paid we will make every effort to re-let but if the cottage remains unlet as a result of the cancellation, then the deposit is not refunded. If the booking is cancelled less than six weeks of the arrival date we will make every effort to re-let but if the cottage remains unlet as a result of the cancellation, then the total rent must be paid.
  • The weekend price is from Friday to Sunday and midweek is from Monday to Friday. A special price for Friday to Monday weekends (third night discounted) can be seen on our website. The weekly price is for a stay of seven nights Friday to Friday. All prices are for up to 12 guests, inclusive of electricity, heating, one basket of logs for the indoor BBQ, wireless broadband (via guest's own laptop), bed linen, towels, bathroom toiletries and cleaning.
    Dogs are an extra £20 each per stay (maximum of 2). Weekends or short breaks are available throughout the year. As well as your complimentary welcome basket you can order groceries to be delivered prior to your arrival. Requests for beauty treatments; wine tasting; extra cleaning, meal delivery or catered dinners can be arranged.
  • Many of our guests take advantage of extra services we can coordinate for you whilst you live at the chapel. Beauty treatments, meal delivery, catered meals, celebration cakes or a wine tasting evening.

  • Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 have en-suite shower rooms. Bedroom 5 is adjacent to a shower room which also serves as the cloakroom to the Great Room and the main shower room is adjacent to bedroom 4. The main shower room has an infra-red sauna which seats 6 adults. All shower rooms are wet rooms and have high pressure combination showers with rain head, body jets and hand shower; luxury towels (hand towels and bath sheets); complimentary TUB toiletries;terry dressing gowns and slippers for every guest.

  • On the first floor Bedroom 1 has a king size four poster bed and an en-suite shower room. There is a spa bath in the bedroom! Bedroom 2 also has a king size bed and an en-suite shower room. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor each with a 19' flat screen TV receiving Freeview channels and an integrated DVD player. Bedroom 3 has a king size bed plus en-suite and Bedrooms 4 & 5 with two twins. Each bedroom is decorated and furnished to the highest standard with it's own individual theme. All the beds are fitted with the highest quality memory foam mattresses and cotton bed linen is provided with oversize duvets on every bed.

Notes: A fully equipped open plan kitchen - located where the altar was and still retaining the altar rails as part of it's design. It has a 2 oven Aga range cooker plus an electric conventional 2 oven Aga module; combination microwave; dishwasher; wine cooler; fridge and freezer. There are plenty of books, CDs, DVDs, a PS2 with games, board games and jigsaw puzzles.
